He was told to leave while the season was still going on. Woodson also wasn’t technically “fired.”

Correct Frieder wasn’t fired as he notified Mich officials that he wasn’t coming back for the next year and Frieder became a natty coach. Woody completely different he got fired. The obvious question to ask would Woody come back next year if he could or how much wood can a wood chuck chuck?

Josh Schertz seems to be a Pam Whitten type coach.

Wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of my list but I would absolutely take a Schertz or McMillan over Brownell or McDermott.  It wouldn’t even be a close call.

All i care about is having our coach the day of or before the portal opens

I don't.

1) most guys entering the portal on day one are not on tournament teams so why focus on them?

2) hiring the right coach is more important than getting one or two players that we otherwise would have a harder time acquiring

Trish what are you hearing?

It’s very quiet when I’m asking around the CBB world. Everyone wants to speculate the big names, but no one knows. Indiana and Utah are the biggest openings right now.

Im confident Brad Stevens is still in play. Dusty is off the table.

The Texas job will likely be open this year.

I have Schertz in top 5 or 6.  But I have Alford there as well.  Looking for someone who would be vested (program ownership).  Losing and or program failure is not an option mentality…..after Stevens, May, and really only after 2 or 3 others…..Alford and Schertz.

Not all the more favorite choices would be vested.  Sure, they want to win and be successful but if it doesn’t work out they just move on.

Not saying it's Brad necessarily, but who thinks Dolson DOES already have "his guy?" Regardless of who it is.

Certainly feasible, if not likely, that he has a deal in principle with someone. I just don't think any of us will have a good idea of who it is until Scott lets Osterman, Bozich, Goodman type announce it. We have 2 big stage coach searches that he's done now and absolutely no info was leaked during either one. Don't expect that to change.

I am a skeptic.  Show me....who will definitely ink a contract.
Until then I have a question:  There was a fun sports bar in Fort Myers Beach named Hoosiers in Paradise.  Do you have knowledge of that?  Any connections?
Saw some games there.  Fun memories.  Walls were like Nick's upstairs.
Lots of B1G fans attended viewing the games.  Not just Hoosiers in paradise.

I had been there prior to Hurricane Ian. I don't think it's open anymore due to damages from that hurricane. But it was an awesome place with pretty good food right across the street from the beach.

I don’t think he has his guy meaning something has been signed.  But I do think there’s a decent chance that he thinks he has his guy.  Meaning they’ve had positive discussions in the back channels and have very possibly come to a verbal agreement although those can certainly fall apart.

Started to type and it sounded so close to this I just stopped.  Brads thing through Goodman probably a sign, Mays contract probably a sign, Otz probably a sign but don't know since it was agreed to months ago.  Probably why you haven't heard much, he may not have gone much past those few so.  Lloyd or Drew is my guess.

If Dolson had his guy which would now be about two months now I would say Brad Stevens stock for IU job goes way up.

A great scenario would be Brad Stevens as a highly paid General Manager of IU basketball operations (GM may work with T. Moren women as well) and Josh Schertz as head men’s basketball coach.
