I was told it is in June but not sure what date for sure. But you are correct that is what it could mean. But from the IU side people state he has said he misses the coaching aspect of it. But that could be slanted our way

To be fair, BS has publicly said that on a podcast. How he misses the feeling of being on the court, I need to find it, I think it was on a podcast last year.

I’ll never understand the McDermott love. I’m very confident he’d be an epic failure.  I can’t always spot success even if it’s right in front of me but I can almost always spot a train wreck a mile away.  We do not want McDermott.

Probably would be but might be one of the only options. No dui. No arrests

Care to Elaborate? Not necessarily disagreeing but I like a lot of his schemes. I’d prefer someone a bit younger personally.

All I know is the next coach better not have even a parking ticket on his resume!

So you don’t differentiate between things people did or might do again? Many have said IU has to get this hire right but if you hire a guy who let’s has been fired for off court issues.  If I your the AD, and have to get this right, you are saying you don’t care if a guy you hire might have a higher propensity to not pan out because of off court issues?

If Stevens' contract ends in a few months (I don't have that confirmed), his lack of an extension is very likely linked to the impending sale and not his happiness with the franchise. I think we'll see an extension for him announced at the time the new ownership group is announced. That's assuming its his preferred group.

Exactly my thoughts,  too...

In other words, you don't hire a guy that has been and still is an untreated alcoholic. If someone has prior problems and they have taken real steps to make sure they won't happen again? That could be acceptable.

Be very careful — you’re not allowed to have Stevens insight that doesn’t align with the hopes and dreams and delusions of this board.

Why are you even here? Good Grief!!! SMH!!!

He'd be 61 when the season starts and he's another Alford.  Good at small schools not cut out for a big job.  I promise you they'd regret that hire.  The fans would be rooting for his firing from the jump.  Much better to go with an up and comer if it got that far.  I highly doubt it does.

Don't agree with this at all. He is a very good coach. Alford was a good recruiter. Wish he was younger but I just want to win. He is a winner in the big east. That isn't some tiny conference
