As for coaches, if we don’t get Stevens, Drew, or someone out of left field like Few or Bennett, McDermott would be my first choice. But coaches like TJ, Buzz, and even Cronin would be good and could win lots with IUs resources.

Since the chance IU hires Beard is nonexistent, glad he won’t be dividing the fan base.

I love how a few people on a message board act like they speak for the majority of the fan base lol that's an important thing to consider when reading BTB. This is most certainly the minority opinion

Wasn't the "event" a BoT meeting? Isn't he the chairman of that board? Seems like a reasonable "request"... and on what planet does getting to your moonlighting job become the responsibility of your employer?

I'm not defending Buckner either... I would never do that.

As far as getting booed at a IU basketball game... does he even attend them? He could not have ever watched one and still continue to defend the Wizard of Broad Ripple.

After 3 years of a conference championship,a Final Four, Sweet 16, and Sweet16?

What would they be chanting about a guy that is 2 games over .500 in conference and had a measly 2 tournament wins in the last half decade? With such similar results some may even be confused and still chant "fire Mike Woodson."

There’s some overlap within that group with the don’t hire Beard crowd, but I don’t think it’s sanctimonious not to want to hire him. It’s totally reasonable not to want him as the coach. I’m just so sick of IU being such a gutter program that I’d definitely take him.

Because IU has such high standards for who we bring in to coach up our boys, we hired Archie Miller and Mike Woodson….maybe we should loosen up a little?

My wife and I have been so blessed with our daughters and grandchildren. We are so thankful they are live no more than 30 minutes away. Our lives totally revolve around them. 

“Papaw” is just putty in those babies hands! 

Sorry, got off of IU, but man,…. If you’re able to and your children have grown up, be a part of those grandbabies lives as much as possible! Time goes by soooo fast.

I get your sentiment, and whole-heartedly agree... we have six grown kids (ages 39-49) with 17 grands (ages 9-23). We are fortunate that all but one daughter and one granddaughter live within 20 minutes of us, and we get to see them, enjoy them and pour into them regularly.

Now, let's get this IU basketball thing settled and rolling again...

That one specifically isn't but the whole general crossing people of the list because of mistakes they've made is.  People wanting a squeaky clean successful home run coach are going to waiting a while.  Highly successful people make mistakes and aren't perfect, maybe more so than your average person, maybe more so because they're in the public eye, it's just tiring to hear.
