I don't understand or buy the answer that it will not be until at least March to hear anything if it is Brad Stevens.  There would be no reason to wait if he was going to be the coach.  Why would he care about staying with Boston for a few more weeks if he was going to be the next coach at IU?  My guess is that the longer we hear nothing on that front, the less likely it will be him.  If it is going to be BS, it will happen in the next week or so.

Lots of smoke screens being put out as well as flat out false info. Front my position Brad being the next coach has never been closer as of this afternoon. Let Scott work!

More of this ****!  Let’s get the white whale!

The waiver wire for playoff rosters has to be set by March 1st. Someone mentioned they have two empty roster spots.

They aren't going to announce the new coach until the season is over.  It doesn't matter who it is.  You don't sign a new coach when your old one is still employed with you.

Why?  If he is your guy then announce him as the next coach and sign the contract.  Date it the day after Woodson's last day as the coach/end of the IU season.  Doesn't make sense to wait in my opinion, but I'm not a lawyer, admin, or anyone that deals with contracts.

Yes, I think I know why the board is being told that. I believe what you are saying too. I'm happy as anyone if we end up with Dusty. But I do think there is more at play here.

When you say "board" is that the BoT or the message boards?  I assume the BoT.  With this search, would the full BoT need to be on board with the hire?

Have no insight, but being that Baylor is a private Baptist university and he and his wife appear to be devout Christians who are quite comfortable in Waco and Baylor I don’t see him wanting to relocate to Bloomington and a public institution. He’s been there a long time.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that Scott Drew's version of Christianity would not preclude him from leaving a Christian school.  Would seem funny if a coach threatened to have a player deported if they didn't go to their school would draw the line at coaching at a non-Christian school.

I get what you are saying, but why would he care about that if he is going to be the next IU coach?  That's like any employer asking you to stay a few more weeks after you already told them you were accepting another position and put in your two weeks.  Why would you care about your old employer at that point?

Because he’s the president of the Celtics and not the head coach of IU. Maybe because he built this team and wants to see them win back to back NBA championships.

His wife wanted no part of #BBN.

Someone on the Trilly discord (yep - take it for what it's worth) mentioned today that the reason he turned down the UK job was his wife. Convince her and he's gone.

You want to take an already toxic situation and make it even worse? Announcing your next coach while the current one is still here would be a good way to do that.
