This. It wasn't a guarantee IU would make the tournament, if they had a contract with someone they should've had a plan in case of missing the tournament. Home Jersey 1

Two Missouri Valley Tourney Championships and one regular season Championship. In 6 years. Has he won a NCAA tournament game? Was he better than Josh Schertz last year? This would stack up right beside the Archie hire. I concur. I think DeVries is a good coach and would handle the rigors of the job a lot better than Archie. He is definitely more charismatic, but even my 90-year old Aunt with dementia has more personality than Archie. BM is potentially special and has a higher ceiling imo. moyemayhem, Hoosierfanyuh, Home Jersey and 6 others 9

He had several good players obviously that could've came with him then. He wasn't interested then he when he does jump it's Drake Iowa to make a one year spring board to the ultimate nut cracker us. I'm not saying you're wrong, it seems like it's an odd plan for a guy up to now that's been very particular. I believe Ben McCollum believes he could turn Drake into the next Gonzaga and become the next Mark Few if you told him he couldn’t. skhoosier2 and thebigweave 2

Obviously, Chris Collins is not a sexy choice, but considering the level of talent he's been forced to work with, there are a few positive things. (1) He is a pretty good motivator (2) His teams play hard nosed defense because that's pretty much the only way he can win (3) From offensive standpoint, Collins seems to utilize his players' talents well and he can tweak based on what he's got. With that said, it's kind of a mystery why he hasn't attracted job offers. Crazy about IU 1

Bulls have tomorrow off … Sorry - all this Collins talk made me think of his Chicago counterpart. I like Collins too for the record. WHAT IF …. big money was indeed raised … Bulls are in purgatory. Going nowhere. Nobody knows the direction. Owner doesn’t care. anyway - just thinking out loud. Ctf9 and thebigweave 2

And he expressed interest the last two times the job was open. as you mentioned, not sexy, but could do well here. He’s high on my list! akumanina and thebigweave 2

I read somewhere that his plan was to stay there until both of his kids had finished school. I believe his daughter already has and his son is a senior and was a manager for the basketball team this year. akumanina 1

I know a lot of us talked about Brad Stevens for quite a while, so if Collins would be the next coach, many fans would be disappointed, but I wouldn't be. Collins knows how to navigate Big 10, and with much better talents, I think he'd do very well here. HoosierSadaseci, thebigweave, Crazy about IU and 2 others 5
