You don’t fire Woody mid season to hire some guy D2 guy from Drake. I’ll say, my one source was someone in the athletic office. As of weeks ago, heck, even over a month ago, it was Brad. Up until about two weeks ago, it was Brad. He’s since gone eerily quiet, which I assumed was a good thing. Apparently he went quiet out of shame. If this is true, what an utter failure on Scott’s part. Brad was literally in the bag.

Maybe just locking it down from within? Or is that wishful thinking based on your relationship?

No, give me mccollum any day over Medved!

The fact that we’re in the same conversation as Minnesota and Iowa is sad. Clearly, if we hire a d2 career coach then pass in our Blue Blood card. It’s humbling but I will finally admit we are no longer the desired job that I thought we were. At least Sampson / Archie and Crean were wanted coaches. McCollum is the back up to Iowa lol

I would 1 million percent take Woody over a D2 coach. And I loathe woody

“D2 Coach” … try:

-4 time D2 National Championship winner

-30-3 in his first season at D1 with wins over Miami, Vanderbilt, FAU, and Kansas St out of conference. Woody could dream.

-Respected across college basketball and asked for advice by coaches like McCasland, May, and Schertz.

Get a grip. This is a much bigger name than Woody, Archie, or yes, Crean.

I gotta believe if it wasn’t Brad @JerryYeagley23 would have been here a  long time ago to tell everyone to give up the wishful thinking. He’s been tagged 1,000 times over the last month.

Love the optimism, but didn’t @JerryYeagley23 have BS last time too?  Not throwing stones.  I don’t recall last go-round, how long before Woodson was hired did it break on here that BS was out & who broke the news?

People on here may love mccollum but if that's honestly the best he can do count me as not impressed with dolson. Especially with all we have to offer.

Huh, who could have guessed that this would be your kind of response? You're usually so happy, relaxed, and positive.

We don’t have to worry about the donations picking up. Ex-players probably won’t even want to come back.

Very good point. The reason why we were tops in the NIL world was because we had former players and very wealthy alum contributing to Woodson. With McCollum, I those donations will be limited

I think we all need therapy on here because we are losing it. How about let Dolson do his job and not freak out after every tweet that comes out. Also if a guy is hired that you don't like nobody is making you watch IU play so either back the coach or don't watch anymore. I would really hate if we hired Beard but I would have to make a choice and I probably would still support the program.

You’ll be writing Dolson lengthy emails once he hires McCollum and we’re three years into a rebuild heading nowhere.

Trilly thinks this is a “trial balloon” and not a done deal to see how fans react. Take that as you will

If that were the case, who would be the next option? Brownell? I'll take McGollum over him any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Considering ex players got us in this mess.  I don't really care.  If he wins, they will come back.  Just win.  It's a huge jump, but he's proven he can coach and win.  Will it work out at a higher level?  Who knows. But if you are rolling the dice on a lower level guy... I'd roll them on McCollum more than the other guys.
