Is there any chance Trayce comes back next year especially if they win a couple games in the NCAA tournament?

Trayce, Race, X, JHS, Gallo, Bates, JG, Leal would be a great top 8 next year. Rob, Kopp, Parker, and Durr gone

 

I'm speculating that both TJD and X will leave after this year.....but if TJD were to come back he'd probably want to know that X is returning as well

He's probably gone, but we're going to have really good momentum going into next season now.  That can be a huge factor into these decisions.

If his performance in the BTT and NCAAT plays himself into the first round of mock drafts, he might take a chance and bolt though.

Still, I believe we are 1 or 2 pieces away from being a top 4 B1G team next year if he and Race return.

Doing research and it appears that @TrayceJackson and Walt Bellamy are the only players to lead their @IndianaMBB  teams in scoring, rebounds, FG made, FG percentage, and FT’s made their first 3 years.  Trayce also has led in blocks but that wasn’t kept when Bellamy played.

TJD took exception to a tweet from Kevin Brockway a hack from CNHI newspapers.

Brockway tweet:  Initial impression of Jalen Hood-Schifino, solidly built kid, looks like he will be able to adapt to physicality of Big Ten quicker than Lander.

TJD's response:  One is 6-5 200 pounds and 18, the other came in at 6-2 170 as a 17 year old. You’re basically saying water is wet. Dont need to bash a player to make another look good.

Another reason I love TJD. He defends his guys, even when they are no longer here. To me, that's what being a teammate is about.

Trayce Jackson-Davis committed to Indiana exactly 4 years to the day... Tonight we play UNC.

Points- 1682.... He is 49 points from passing Christian Watford for 10th in career scoring. 

Rebounds- 837.... He is 24 from moving into 7th and on pace to each 1000 career rebounds, being just the forth IU player behind Alan Henderson, Walt Bellamy and Kent Benson. If he picks up the pace in rebounding, could threaten to take over #1 all time. 

Blocks- 183.... He is 10 away from passing Dean Garrett for 6th, 12 from passing George Leach for 5th and 13 from passing DJ White for 4th. He needs to pick up the pace a bit but will need 50 more blocks to pass Jeff Newton for 1st.

I remember thinking at the time that his commitment was going to be more valuable than Romeo's. It hasn't been easy, but it looks like Trayce has a chance to play for a special team this year. I think if he can lead IU to a B1G title at minimum, we are looking at him as one of the best in this program.

He is such an easy guy to root for as well. He hasn't been just a stat stuffer on a bad team, he has been a stat stuffer in spite of the bad teams. So, it sucks that his legacy to this point is tainted because of the lack of success, as I believe he is amongst the best to play here. Not his fault that the coaching and roster have been incompetent

Went over 1,700 points for his career last night. Congrats Trayce!

So did the math if Trayce can keep up the pace with his stats. Maintain his averages. He will take first in rebounds and blocks in 32 more games. We would need deep runs in both tourneys but it’s possible. 
 

Still need another year if we want to get #1 in points.
