Lamar Jackson fist-bumps Diego at Ravens minicamp

Watching my 3rd game of Givens right now. Will probably scribble some thoughts tomorrow but 1 thing leapt out immediately, he’s not 6’9”. He played last year with Latrell Allmond, who measured 6’8” at the Adidas Eurocamp last summer, and Givens has at least 2 and maybe even 3 inches on him. So he’s 6’10, 6’11”, anyway. And he can really move and change direction.

I’m down with UK being punked as much as the next guy but that kid’s an a$$hole and there’s a reason he’s been at a million schools.

It’s just another pro league for the Euros. They play with younger guys all the time. I keep harping on it, but 1) the schools should ditch the NCAA and 2) keep any new rules they make with a strong focus on being paired with the traditional American path of universities being pre job market training intuitions of 19-22 year olds. This is a tragedy of the commons situation where if you let the individual teams bring over 25yr old euros/current pros they will, but it is better off for everyone long term if nobody does.

This is the kind of stuff that (1) pi$$e$ me off, and (2) I truly don't understand. What's the deal with grown men who have been playing professionally for several years being eligible to play "amateur" (??) college basketball with 17- and 18-year old kids? "Fairness" notwithstanding, what's the deal with this?

I'm sure we do. And those that are active, especially any gambling on their own sport, are being incredibly dumb. Don't see why it's not against team rules during the season at the very least. It's their right to piss away money and risk their futures though.

There is no good reason for athletes to gamble on sports, especially their own sport. Zero. I'd hope none of our players have any active accounts on those platforms. If they haven't already, every school better be looking into this stuff. Another blight on modern sports

Kentucky is at 11 players, and the only three guards on the roster are Zoom Diallo - talented but inconsistent and bad outside shooting portaller from U Washington, a three star true freshman, and a zero star true freshman who is the son of one of their new assistants. Willy Waders at LSU currently has a roster of exactly one player.

Yep. I was just thinking that any of our opponents would have reason to try and uncover and leak it. What if the Thursday before OSU somebody leaked it to a reporter and there was something to it. Would throw the whole gameplan into chaos. It wouldn’t even need to be OSU doing it. Could be a team trying to manipulate the standings of the conference

Anybody remember those allegations against Marsh? My guess is if the university didn’t take them serious back then they are now. They are getting to the bottom of that and being prepared because probably good we don’t play MSU this year or else something could leak the week before

I’m not saying I'm out of shape, but my favorite fitness machine is the dining chair. I love chair exercises like yoga and transcendental meditation. But I have a tough time with the stand up part. I sat on a stool and lost 1/2 a pound. Sit happens.
