B1G won Maui B1G is going to win Players era B1G is going to win Acrisure Classic probably B1G won the Hall of Fame classic earlier in the week B1G won their game at Night of Champions to say B1G is having a great non conference so far would be an understatement I say it every year but this is exactly what you want the conference your team plays in to do. Last Sec got 14 teams in because of their history making non conference results. B1G won’t be that good but they are going to get extra teams in the tourney because of this start.7 points -

Amen. Thankful for Pam Whitten and Scott Dolson who brought us Curt Cignetti and Darian DeVries and our undefeated Football team, our undefeated Men's Basketball team and Teri Moren's undefeated Women's Basketball team. Woodson is history and oh, that Buckner would follow suit. As Hoosiers we have a lot to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!6 points -

We will have plenty of fun match ups between DDV and Dusty led teams. I'm sure there will be years they get the best of us and years we get the best of them. I would've loved to hire Dusty when Michigan did but we also don't know for certain he'd want to coach here. Timing just didn't work out. Sucks, but I think we got another really good coach who can be here a long time. And yes, a big ole screw you, to Quinn.6 points -

Virtually nobody in the history of basketball has ever shot 58% from the midrange. Kevin Durant, one of if not the best midrange shooters is a career 48.1% from 10-16 feet. He’s shot over 58% from that range once in 18 seasons. If you happen to be completely wide open then sure, take one of those shots I guess, but there’s no reason to ever prioritize that shot. Virtually nobody is good enough at them to make it more efficient than a 3 or a paint shot.5 points -

It’s all about points per possession. If guys like Wilkerson and Devries hit 60% of open 15 footers and 50% of open three-pointers, they are scoring far more by shooting three-pointers. And that’s without including that the offensive rebounding percentage is higher on missed three-pointers than on missed two pointers. That’s why three pointers and 75+ % shots at the rim are the most efficient and productive ways to score.5 points

That’s where scheme comes in. Our actions are designed to free players in certain areas and to draw the defense to certain areas. In very basic terms, we screen, space, and move to open spots behind the three point line, and then flash bigs or drive guards all the way to the rim once the defense gets far extended. You are a guy that appreciates RMK: He had a motion offense that freed up shooters all over the court; that is, until the 1987 addition of the three point line and Alford. At that point, his motion offense turned into a scheme to free up Alford in deep space. That’s what he used for Jay Edwards and Evans too. Problem is, RMK never really had a shooter of that caliber after those three.4 points -

I used to be just like that because I only watched college basketball from Nov-April and nothing else. I use to buy 3 or more pre season magazines and read them cover to cover but not today. I just think all the player movement has made the sport less interesting and it is hard to get to know teams rosters. I use to know all the teams rosters going into the season but today I don't even know the big ten teams rosters.3 points

That Illinois win will 100% lock in a top-four seed and first two rounds in Bloomington! RPI was in the top-15 heading into last night, and Purdue is elite, so the Illini were the final landmine to lose that right, and the last regular-season matchup against the Boilers is now a pride game that will not affect IU's seeding. No Big Ten Tourney in volleyball.3 points -

Dusty put a hell of a roster together this season. The Yaxel addition was HUGE. Being able to play all 3 bigs together is borderline unfair. I’m not sold on Cadeau at all but that front court and Dusty as a coach. I’m sold. Dusty said the offseason was easy as players wanted to play for Michigan based on results and style. This is my hope for DDV. We will need about 3 starter level guys out of the portal including a PG and Center and maybe a SG as well.3 points -

The Michigan Wolver-wagons. They are trucking everyone. Makes me wish Dusty was already in his 60s so there would be some chance Indiana might win sometime before I die. At least they will run over Purdue during their best window for a title run. Screw you, Quinn. I hope your turkey is dry tomorrow.3 points -

To each their own. For me there is no such thing as teams I have little interest in. I have no problem watching any team at anytime. If I waited until championship week to watch some of these smaller conferences and schools then chances are I missed out on a heck of a game on a Tuesday 5 games into the SoCon regular season. For me seeing these little guys play all year makes championship week more exciting since I will know which schools can make a run in their conference tourney. I’m not a regular fan though. Even in the 90’s I was watching small conference teams year round. Having an aunt and uncle who had one of those big satellites gave access to channels from around the US. Going over there and watching West coast games was the best. Boise States old floor brings those memories back. ESPN then had the full court offer that gave you access to all the games for a pay per view type price that I had my parents get and then I got it when I went to college. Now i have just about every streaming service you can think of just to be able to watch as many games as possible. My passion for college basketball hasn’t changed since those early days. I’m known as the college basketball guy and I’m more then ok with that.3 points -

I was in town for the game and it was so much fun. A very good atmosphere too. It was so refreshing to see players play hard. You really notice it when attending the game. We had balance scoring and Bailey improved drastically throughout the game. Enright, although not flashy, is a type of player this program has needed for a long time. He gets up in the opponent’s face. He’s a “pest.” I’m really glad he’s on our team.3 points -

In the annals of terrible coaching hires at the highest of high majors, football or basketball, is this the worst? I mean, short of a Kelvin Sampson/IUBB sort of situation. They hired a total cultural misfit who was already 60. The previous 4 years they went 36-15 and won a Natty. In his time they were 34-14 and never finished top 10. They paid the dude NINETY MILLION DOLLARS to get no better and look like utter freaking buffoons at the end of it. Are you kidding me? And you knew it was never going to. At least when Woodward hired Fisher at A&M you could understand the fit. But Brian Kelly and LSU football was absurd on its face. I mean, Jesus.2 points -

I wonder if IU will do anything publicity-wise, at least on social media. The Bill Garrett story is pretty cool. There used to be a book—sold in the IU bookstore at one time, I believe—that covered his journey to and through IU. It was really good. Touched on Indiana HS basketball and his rivalry with Clyde Lovellette and then Herman B. Wells and McCrackens decision to bring in Garrett. In any event, I hope IU does something to note that besides let the tv announcers mangle some in-game blurb.2 points -

Yeah there’s a fair bit of that, though it looks different because Wabbington looks like an athlete and Queen looks like Queen. But a lot of what’s getting done is pretty similar. Side note: this game speaks to what a phenom Koa Peat was in HS. He won either 2 or 3 state championships there and 1st year without him they lost this one at home by 30 and Sunnyslope pulled their starters in the 3rd.2 points -
I guess I am to old school because I see no problem seeing players shoot open 15 foot shots. We have the all time leading scorer in big ten history who made a living on those shots. To me if you use the whole court it makes you harder to defend. I saw many IU teams score over 80 a game without shooting 35 3's. To me it isn't about where you shoot the ball but the quality of the shot and how you get those shots. Guys like Devries and Wilkerson should hit 58+% from an open 15 footer.2 points

The last few days I have really tried to watch a lot of these games but I am having trouble getting into a lot of these games. I just think the portal and the NIL stuff has started to dwindle my interest in the games. Even watching the power conference teams I don't know most of the roster. Also the quality of the play in a lot of the games are not up to par. Yes the games have been close but it doesn't mean the quality of play in the court is great. I know I am in the minority but another problem I have is that they have totally oversaturated the product and there are way to many games on at the same time. What use to make me excited about the games were that they use to seem to be an event but now there is a game at anytime so it makes it less special.2 points
