  1. He would be in the thick of it without our 3-game skid. If he keeps producing similarly to how he has been (tall task) and we finish in the top 3 or 4 of the B1G (not as tall of a task) he’ll be in the conversation imo. Dropping his nuts on Edey when they match up wouldn’t hurt his case either.

  2. Win the game. Leave with a healthy team. That is all I require.

  3. Let's just come out and play like we did the last 3 games and hopefully get a win. After the hole we dug ourselves gotta take them any way you can get them.

  4. Zeller should have won it in 2013. He was always the best player on the team. The success trickled down from him.

  7. Nothing from Starbucks is delicious. Lol Now a side note -- Starbucks sued a local Texas bar for trademark infringement, bc the bartender was serving a "StarBocks" beer -- a mix of Lone Star and Shiner Bock. Now that was delicious.

  8. Here's the problem: Zach Edey: 21.5 PPG, 13.2 RPG as a dominant force for #1-ranked Purdue. I think he's pretty much the clear frontrunner at the moment. As good as Trayce has been, Edey and Purdue have been consistently great all year long. That being said, Trayce is on a torrid pace right now and the Hoosiers are on a roll. 19.4 PPG and 10.1 RPG along with 3.5 APG and 3.1 BPG puts him squarely in the conversation. What we need is for Trayce to keep up this pace and the Hoosiers have to keep winning AND Purdue will need to start losing and Edey start struggling a bit. As Hova said above, it would really help if Trayce gets the better of Edey when they play this year. If that happens and IU and Purdue are battling it out at the top of the league at the end of the season then I think Trayce has a chance. But I believe it's an uphill battle at the moment. Kinda reminds me of the Big Ten Players of the Year in 2013 and 2016. As good as Victor and Yogi played those years, Trey Burke and Denzel Valentine were just a little bit better.

  10. Today's media session - Race Thompson - "When (my injury) first happened, I thought it was pretty much over with. The way it felt, the way it looked, I pretty much thought my career was a wrap." Credited Tim Garl and Iowa training staff for quick, decisive treatment. On Jordan Geronimo: "He's earned the right to play that much. I got to try and get some minutes back from him."

  11. From Assembly Call - Malik Reneau had *at least* two TOs in 7 straight games (from Arizona through Penn St), averaging 2.43 per game. Malik has had just one turnover in each of the last three games, while delivering much more impactful defense. He's also shooting 58.6% from the field in B1G games.

  13. This should be a beatdown considering how we've been playing lately, and their current injuries. That said, I'll be happy with a 1 point win.

  14. So then without a doubt they will put up 80 and the walk on at the end of the bench will drop 20. WAIT! Putting that curse to bed....Minnesnowta will only score 34 points tonight!

  17. I love how when Iowas wins, or wins a good game, they move up - with 4 losses. We win 2 road games against ranked teams, and we stay at 6. LSU has played nobody, and I mean nobody, but they are ranked above us. I think we will beat OSU, but it will be interesting to see what that does for us. I guess it doesn’t matter. Our women’s team is special, they should get some respect and coverage.

  22. Have wondered that one, too. He rejected IU because he wanted to go to a Catholic school in a more skill-based conference. 3 years later he’s at a state school in the B1G. And you’re right, his circumstances have been challenging, and he’s doing what he needs to do. But you just know he has to look in the mirror every now and then and think, “What the hell happened?”

Current price of a small Mocha Frappuccino at Starbucks in Minneapolis: $5.65 Current price of an IU/Minny game ticket on StubHub: $4.00 ____________________________________________________________________________ Of course, many would say that a Frappuccino is sweet, delicious, and keeps you awake, and that Minnesota basketball is ... well, you know.

  25. For our women's bball team, Puredoo is: A brutal campus A brutally low-class fan base But the games will be a pleasure. As Yarden said "I traveled over 3,000 miles to say "F*** Purdue."

  30. Dang ... if that happened? When they came to Bloomington the following weekend we'd be within striking distance. That would be an extraordinary game to behold. Couple that with the injury that Edey is long overdue for. Count me as; not expecting things to get interesting, but seeing a path whereby they could.

  31. That sounds nice. My job doesn't necessarily lend itself to working from home. I think I worked from home 2-3 times during the whole pandemic. Other than that, I was at work every day.

  32. Yes I do. I told my boss I'm not coming into Bloomington tomorrow and going to work from home. My wife is a teacher and they have already been told tomorrow will be an E-learning day.

  34. Nothing better than being off because of snow, sitting around drinking all day, then watching the Hoosiers stomp on some gophers. I'm excited about this game. Sometimes you just need a snow day.

  35. Kansas lost three straight. Duke doesn’t look good. Kentucky and North Carolina both have struggled this season at times. It’s the nature of cbb especially if you lose a couple starters.

  36. This got me curious so I sports referenced it: (Since the 2011-12 season) Minnesota 5-4 Illinois 4-5 Iowa 4-5 Maryland 1-4 Michigan 2-6 MSU 2-7 Nebraska 5-3 Northwestern 3-4 Ohio State 2-6 Penn State 5-4 Purdue 2-7 Rutgers 3-4 Wisconsin 0-9 This looks good on desktop. If it's unreadable anywhere else, just know that it ain't good!

  42. I’d like to see him go to the Damon Bailey school of open court ball handling. He’s strong enough and has a decent enough first step to get around guys but isn’t confident enough to keep them there. Bailey was a master at keeping guys right on his butt/back hip pocket so he knew where they were and they couldn’t get around. If he could shore up that type of thing and finishing at the rim, he could be looking at an All-Conf team type of year next year.
