I have a friend who was a good QB. Set an NCAA record (all divisions). Had an offer to be a GA to eventual QB coach from a B1G school. When I listen to him discuss QB play or mechanics, I am always reminded that I know virtually nothing about the subject.

With that said…we’ve all watched the offense trend down for weeks now with no answer in sight. And I do mean, trend down. We look like we’re getting more stagnant. I can understand why fans have latched onto Wilson.

He may not be the answer. One thing I’m certain of is if there is even an answer Cig and Co. will find it. And if they don’t, we can still ride the defense to a 10-2 record and playoff berth, which is a successful season by any metric.

Agreed.  I’m close to somebody in the Frye(Brownsburg QB) family and even in High School the amount of knowledge for these HS QBs is insane.

But that being said even High School QBs have the basic expectation that if you have guys wide open and a clean pocket you have to consistently hit that throw

Reality:  IU 8-1, Bowl Eliigibe  October 11,
Improving bowl status each week,                  In contention for playoffs including number one seed, Top 5 or 6 ranking throughout the year, currently ranked probably around number 3, and due to the parity in big ten and all the major college football is right in the thick of things while playing badly football using the performance of a stellar defense and one of the best pressure kicks ever by Rocketeer! And a backup QB that answered the call and Becker. Hoover has a couple moments as well/Michigan in overtime,
Contention for big ten championship game and big ten championship.  Conclusion:  change badly play of offense (mainly at QB) and partially special teams to get to 8-1 into goodly play of offense and special teams to match or at least complement and help IU defense. 15-1 or how close to 15-1 is attainable.

How things have changed and time seems to move fast when having a good time.

I am proud of the Hoosiers for gutting out another win.  Can you imagine how frustrating it is to the players and coaches, too?  I speculate that Hoover is injured, but tough.

Cignetti and his teams are more than a breath of fresh air after over 50 years since the '67 Rose Bowl.

We have caught lightening in a football stadium in B'town and are tough to play against everywhere we go!

Enjoy it.  I am.  No one ever said that it was a cakewalk.

And for the record, the rocket fuel is untouched.  Spent Halloween with family outside around a fire in a front yard handing out eyeballs and special light treats and Milky-Way bars with webbing and spiders and laser lights and black lights and standing up greeting big and little kiddos and looking in our front window at the game.  Spooky win!

A couple of observations. The punter gave UM two scores. Mistakes happen. Hoover is injured. He is trying, but the injury is hindering his play. There were some special teams mistakes. Most all of this will be discussed, and corrections made by the coaching staff. Last season was special and we can't expect perfection every year. 99% of the schools out there would like to be in IU's position.

An understated aspect to our struggles because Hoover is so visible is special teams.

Had we not missed the kick against OSU we would have needed a FG to win it instead of the 4th down pass to Marsh.

These little things add up into a problem greater than the sum of their parts.

If you see something Cig doesn't I'm not sure what the best way is for you to get that message to him.

Cig has a bit of stubbornness to him.  He may not want to accept Hoover is limited.  It is clear that Hoover is struggling and putting the team in bad spots.

I don’t follow this logic. Minny had their own time outs and could have called time out to go for it.  The only thing I can think of is that he thought Minny would punt and play for OT which Cig was happy to do.

Cig has forgotten more about football than I’ll ever know, so far be it from me to second guess. But I wonder if he would do things differently if he could do it over.

As it is it led to one of the most improbable endings in football history. I saw a tweet that said in D1 and NFL, no game had ever had two 60yd FGs made in the last 30 sec. Crazy.

It was a mistake, period.  He gave some jibberish about 58 they would kick and 60 he might miss.  You call time out.  Minn can kick, punt or even go for it.  But you have time to recover.

…being at the game yesterday, though both frustrated and in disbelief at times of our play,…I was mortified at how may fans booed. We sit in section 26 row 53 there was a young man who was an absolute moron during IU’s struggle! He kept yelling, “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?, OH MY GAWD!!, BOOOOOO!!, etc.

It was a terrible time for people with families. Not sure if that’s your situation.

the 330 slot should have been filled with west coast teams

Not the situation but one of my nephews had baseball games this weekend along with not knowing what ticket prices would be.

1st time I’ve seen this angle. Jesus, that’s good from, what, 68, something like that? And the Minny kid’s was the same. They made those look like they just weren’t that big a deal. Insane.

Into a slight breeze too.  Amazing.

Seriously, watched that and it was like Rory McIlroy standing in the fairway with Cig playing the caddie and him saying, “what, 285 over the water and 296 to the pin,” and Cig saying, “Smooth 3 wood, I like it.” How could it have been that easy for him?

Never understood why people get so offended by booing. There are far worse and more toxic ways for people to express their displeasure.

Booing the kids I kind of get, tho its changed some with NIL. When it comes to the higher level staff and all major professional atheltes boo away they are millionaires playing a game. Be better

Anyone notice how Cig has given this team some love during postgame interviews?

Seems like he was harder on last year's team during interviews.

I really think part of the problem is that the players are feeling a lot of pressure as defending champs. Playing tight. Radicic especially is having a difficult year. Maybe he's just trying to boost their confidence and stay positive. Enough people are taking shots at them, he doesn't need to publicly.
