Cig too. I'd probably opt for Antwaan Randle El over Fisher for now. But by the time his career is done, that could easily change. Really exciting time when you think about how many awesome players in the program today could be great candidates for this list someday: Kamara, Ponds, Landino, Sarratt, Tucker, Isiah Jones, Hardy... And depending how the season plays out, Mendoza may be on it. I will always have a soft spot for Kurtis Rourke too. MemphisHoosier and go iu bb 2 Quote
MemphisHoosier Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 I'm surprised that Nate Sudfeld, Tevin Coleman, James Hardy, and Adewale O. aren't garnering more of the conversation, but I agree AT, George T., ARE, and Cig are the obvious quartet. go iu bb, OliviaPope40, Jeff Flabjohns and 3 others 6 Quote
rayl456 Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 I want someone from the Rose Bowl team…1967. It was a different era and the game was played differently. But Jade Butcher set IU records for pass receptions, yardage, touchdowns, and points. He scored ten touchdowns each season for three years. And he was a Bloomington guy. IU HOFer. There are plenty of other good choices, but can’t forget the Cardiac Kids. **AllAmerican 1969 MemphisHoosier, Home Jersey, BannerVille and 3 others 6 Quote

LamarCheeks Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 He played before any of us were around (though I think @Class of '66 Old Fart might have had a class or two with him), but any IU football Mount Rushmore absolutely HAS to include Pete Pihos. He was an end and fullback and was a three-time All-American. He even took time off from IU to fight in WWII. He played nine years with the Eagles, was a six-time All-Pro and two-time NFL champion. He was the first former IU player to be inducted in to the Pro Football Hall of Fame and is one of two Hoosiers (along with George Taliaferro) in Canton. So, here's my list: Pete Pihos George Taliaferro Anthony Thompson Antwaan Randle El cybergates, Class of '66 Old Fart, J34 and 3 others 6 Quote

TTT Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Well rounded all around athlete including football….don’t forget…..Milt Campell. Came to IU 1953. Quote
cthomas Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 IU has had a lot of exceptional players but they were never on great teams except for maybe the Rose Bowl team. And even then it wasn't sustainable. The Cignetti era feels different. That IU could have arguably the best coach in college football is insane for me. I have a soft spot for the guys who played on the Rose Bowl team. They took down a very highly rated Purdue team and I listened to it on the radio while harvesting corn. Great team, great times. As far as players go, I'm going with AT and Trent Green. Quote

RoadRage Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Makes me wonder is we need a ring of honor.....because that list is going to start growing exponentially. Taliaferro should be #1 addition, invite his family and get the ring started! Home Jersey, LockdownD, Pagoda and 4 others 7 Quote

Magnanimous Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Cig, AT and George T seem to have consensus. IMO, the fourth spot needs to go to “Replogle.” Not any specific Replogle, but the word is (not actually) Latin for “Indiana Football Legacy.” Hovadipo, Crimson and Cream and MemphisHoosier 3 Quote
steubenhoosier Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Two “ Tim’s” that shouldn’t be overlooked. Tim Wilbur was a 2 time All-B1G cornerback and a second team AA his senior season. He returned a punt 62 yards for the bowl winning touchdown v BYU, in a win that for a long time was considered the biggest win in IU football history. Tim Clifford was the B1G MVP in 1979, the first IU MVP since the 1930’s. We have had 2 since, AT and ARE. Rico and MemphisHoosier 2 Quote

I think the more this "train" keeps chuggin down the track at this pace, renovations and expansions on Memorial Stadium will definitely be heating up. There is no reason we couldn't add 5k to 10+k more seats here. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
Demo Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Taliaferro A.T. Randle-El Cig 2 things: 1) Once he's left IU Ponds will be on there for me somewhere. Love that kid. 2) Among the honorable mentions that hasn't come up yet, how about Eric Moore? All Big 10. 1st round pick. All Rookie. Went to a Pro Bowl. Has a ring. That's about as good as IUFB gets, at least until now. RoadRage 1 Quote

Our place in that ranking is probably fair for now, though as far as strictly viewing a game ours is probably top-8ish because we don't have a bad seat. Nebraska is wayyyy too low and Wisconsin is wayyyy too high though. And depending on your criteria, Penn State is too high also. That place is super overrated. Pagoda and Demo 2 Quote

My season tickets have always been on the visitor's side, section 28 from row 50 to now row 62. I have had row 62 and same seats the last few year now. I love the view right on the 50 yard line. IMO, the Illinois game was the loudest I have EVER heard it in there, for obvious reasons! Hovadipo, RoadRage and Pagoda 3 Quote
