He wasn’t the source of our problems. He was a very positive influence for our players mentally and spiritually.  Imo, I’ll miss the guy.  Got an unfair shake from social media.  Tyme and the Twitter posse came at him this year after all their other excuses fell flat.  It was ridiculous and one of my most hated storylines on the season.  I wish I could tell the guy, straight-up thanks for all the work he has put into these kids and the program.  He’ll find a spot,  no doubt in that.  
 

Let’s recruit some shooters and run a system that maximizes that skill set first before we pass blame.

He's been a part of the losing culture at IU the last 8 years. For that reason alone he needs to go. Out with the old, in with the new.

There was a lot of smoke back then that Eric Gordon’s dad wanted Sampson to recruit him when Sampson got the job.  Probably a more appropriate way to do it would have been to tell Eric to de-commit first.  But it’s all water under the bridge now.

If Marshall is gone then they should look at Sanderson the former Michigan strength and conditioning guy. He was under Beilien and then got into it with Howard his last year about nepotism. Called Howard out for treating his sons differently than the rest of the players and how it hurt culture. So Howard had a temper tantrum and Sanderson was shown the door. But he is an excellent S&C coach.

I am fine with this and agree with it actually.  His time is up, but him turning into a scapegoat is the storyline of all storylines.  Sad.

It certainly doesn't hurt that his son is a pretty good ball player.

And the fact that his son is a top 50ish ‘26 would just be a happy coincidence.
