Take FWIW given the source... Hysterics are saying Sturtz is already in Bloomington and they expect Chester Frazier to come along, too. They also said jury is out on Ostrom, Barnett would be a name if he doesn't get Oral Roberts HC job, and then mention Preston Murphy from Alabama as a name to watch.

I don’t remember where I read it, but fwiw I read that Frazier might be the key in getting some guys to follow the staff here.

Frasier, Barnett, and Murphy would be an epically good staff.

Getting Murphy would be quite the flex and a staff "recruiting win" for CDD.  This is petty, but it would be fun to just poach a guy like that from current top-10 team as shot across the bow of college hoops.

Sturtz and possibly Frazier is consistency, that's the ticket to a smooth transition. Always nice to look at big names from other programs, as additions, but the starting point should be the guys he already has, and is comfortable with, as the foundation for a smooth transition and immediate hit-the-ground-running team building.

I just about crapped my pants thinking this was meant in a “done deal” type of way, then realized we’re talking Sturtz and not Stirtz. Let’s get both though.

Murphy feels pretty pipe-dreamish, but I’ll be happy as hell to be wrong. 
Side note: for those concerned during the coaching search that IU is too, what was the phrase, holier than thou, to compete with the best, dude had a 2 year show cause after getting caught up in the same deal as Book Richardson. So, hey, there’s that.

Where's Eeyore been the last few days? Upset IU hired a good coach so he can't complain incessantly?

I know some Illinois fans over here who are having a hard time with the possibility of seeing Frazier as a coach here.

Let your mind wander and envision the scenario where at Hoosier Hysteria, Frazier is introduced as an assistant coach and Eric Gordon comes out of a dimly lit corridor.  They meet at center court glaring at each other and recreate the "bump" although this time Eric is the 'bumpor'.   SSAH would implode.

Good.

This reminds me about a funny aspect with Illinois fans — they don’t really have a conference rival, but you can tell they want one.  They will try to go at us or Purdue or whoever, but they can never really get another fanbase to bite and take much of a care about Illinois.

When Kelvin flipped EJ it got heated for a few years, but it’s mostly returned to normal.
