In the post game Leal said they were indeed instructed to foul, prior to the three point dagger, but they didn’t do it.  It’s almost laughable at this point.

Foul???

They didn’t even know if they were switching or not. Just horribly ineptly prepared which is coaching.

Positive— can’t deny the grit, heart and passion they showed in the second half.

Negatives—

The move to a zone was a disaster. Guys didn’t know where they were supposed to be. Only reason I can think of for making that move was to protect guys in foul trouble.

Galloway’s miss on the front end was huge. But if you would have told me that both Goode and Rice would miss a free throw down the stretch, have called you a crazy man.

During the second to last time out, if it wasn’t emphasized that we had a foul to give, that’s on the coaches. If it wasn’t emphasized that, then it’s on a Senior who is a coach’s son and has to know better.

As has been said, the last possession was a cluster. If you continue to play the game believing your best lineup is two bigs, then you have to live and die with it. Leave both bigs in, get them the ball in the paint, and hope they either score or get fouled trying.

Woodson was out coached and is clueless. I saw Reneau yelling at him as well. As much as this team has underperformed, they deserve better coaching than what they have gotten

There was literally no reason. None. Fing zero.

This is one of the few teams with two bigs that we matched up with. And they were hitting threes already. In a year where I’ve begged them to go zone at times to protect or two big lineup, this was the dumbest possible time.

He’s just completely lost

All good points.

in regards to the bolded. In the post-game Leal said they were told to foul. It’s crazy how many F ups there were at the end.

Post Game Q&A with CMW!

Coach, could you please walk us through that last play?

Well look it’s on me to get these guys to ring the bell. I’m mean we played a helluva 2nd half & got our bell rung at the end.

I designed that last play, then I subbed out the wrong guys, now that’s on me. I gotta keep working. Hell I don’t even know what I’m doing..

Coach are you worried about not making the tournament and losing your job?

Man! It’s along season we are 14-7 or 6 not 6-14, but look we just gotta keep working & get better.. I mean hell we got some good looks in that first half they just weren’t falling .

And like I said, hell I don’t even know what I’m doing.

We’re gonna go back and watch film and get back to work.

That is disgusting... but I do agree with one point: he has no idea what he's doing.

Indiana's Myles Rice on the final possession:  "I think we were trying to run a play, but then the substitutions kind of got everybody confused a little bit, trying to put everybody in their right spots. Then we didn't have a timeout, so we were trying to fix everything on the fly a little bit in such a heated moment."

He didn't know what they were trying to do?

I have to be honest with you -- I didn't either!

That's okay, neither did Woodson.

I honestly believe we would have been better off after Maryland made the 3 to just let Miles push it up the floor like he was in the process of doing and try to get the bucket or the foul instead of calling a TO. Just my opinion.

Probably. I mean seeing the quotes and what happened, we just let Woodson f it up more.

Feels like something a fifth year guy getting a good chunk of NIL would say to deflect blame from his coach. Kind of like the true fans comment at senior night last year. Maybe not. But this game came down to coaching and it was pretty obvious we weren’t managed well. Nice of Leal to try and take the heat. IMO.

A lot of coaches do that, especially HOF coaches!  MW is far from being a HOF coach!
