If we still had a healthy Rourke at qb, I would feel pretty good about rolling into Columbus undefeated. Now I'm not so sure. Jackson handled the second half against Nebraska very well, but the game was mostly over. And, I don't remember any long drives. I'm not taking anything away from Jackson, I really like him, but Rourke is a different guy.

I ran across these latest BIGTEN team offense/defense rankings. It really floors me as to how our defense (#7) can be ranked lower that both Nebraska (#4)  and Northwestern (#6)....

@Artie86

Passing D is the reason. Since we've been ahead every game, our opponent has had to pretty much abandoned the run game. One could argue that our D isn't as good as the stats are indicating because of this factor. But you know as well as I do that just simply isn't true. Our run D is solid. This D can hang with any team in the B1G. But overall, the passing D is the reason we're sitting at seven. We've had some close games for 3 quarters.

Interesting that Cig says Rourke is "doubtful" for Saturday. 1st that's different from what he said Monday and they seem to not want to commit to him being out. Said he's day to day. Regardless good news

I kinda wonder if Rourke will be a super-mega emergency QB tomorrow. Tayven gets hurt, we’re in a tight spot that they don’t feel Cherry/Mendoza can get us out of.

I can't imagine Coach Cignetti would try to get Rourke back in when he could risk longer healing. Maybe he's trying to keep teams guessing. I fully trust Jackson and am actually excited to see what he brings.

I think it's more about if Jackson is hurt. I doubt he "tries" to play him but if your back is against the wall a 60% Rourke is probably better than 100% Cherry or Mendoza (at this point in their careers). But yes there's an element of gamesmanship here as well I'm sure.

Yeah, what rcbowla said. I’m saying a back against the wall, playoffs are on the line situation where Tayven is out of the game in a gotta have it situation.

I said earlier in the year that Ohio St was the only team we couldn’t compete with on the schedule and I may be wrong about that

I still wouldn't take us to beat them no matter where the game was played, but for the first time ever, I think we have the better coach.

Peacock deals?

Saw this add from June 2024:  Get a year of Peacock for $19.99 - that’s 67% off! Use code STREAMTHEDEAL.

And another add for military and/or students:

$2.99/mo for 12 months. Military verification required. Terms apply.
$1.99/mo for 1 Year. Student verification required. Terms Apply.

And since I have a Samsung smart TV:

To access Peacock on a Samsung Smart TV, you can:
  1. Ensure your TV model is supported by Peacock. Peacock is compatible with Samsung Smart TVs from 2017 and later.
  2. From your TV's home screen, search for "Peacock".
  3. Select the Peacock app icon.
  4. Select the download icon.

The latter Samsung smart TV option...I am using a Samsung smart TV and have free access to Peacock...when getting into the upcoming games, I see football and basketball games.  But, as of yet, I do not see the Saturday IU vs MSU game.  Maybe because the time was not scheduled until recently.  Dunno.

Good luck.
