After the April 7 date where deals then need to be evaluated? Do we know of any other visitors today? While early in the cycle, we don’t have much of anything to actually discuss / analyze yet so of course people worry about the worst. No idea how feasible this is but… Add Tyrone Riley, Bidunga, Dix to Tucker DeVries and Trent. Add Trent’s HS teammate Dante Allen and the WVU decommits not tied to Frazier (Odih and Maclean). You need some more high end talent but that’s a decent starting point with a lot of youth. Of course we probably will be lucky to add 2 or 3 of those names. Which is fine… I won’t be freaking out over bringing in players not highly rated… as long as it makes sense after watching tape. The timing of the dead period doesn't make any sense. I thought the idea behind dead periods were to give coaches a break and a chance to spend time with family, unwind, vacation, whatever or to give the athletes a break from the recruiting. Are coaches really going to be taking a break in the middle of the dead period? Are athletes not going to be be getting tons of texts and calls? Nope to both. It actually makes the decision for portal players harder since they can't visit a school during that time. Home Jersey and BannerVille 2 Quote

And when they are found by the coach, fans will still b**** until the kids actually show out, if they ever do. Even ignoring the reward vs. effort expended component of things its damned if you do, damned if you don't for coaches. It makes a lot more sense for coaches to pursue kids after they show out at lower levels, than to simply pursue hidden players in the hope that they will someday show out. CSP 1 Quote

I've always been under the impression that the dead period exists at this time to encourage all the coaches to get down to the Final Four and attend the conferences. Could be wrong on that but that is what I've always been lead to believe. Class of '66 Old Fart, pumpfake, 8bucks and 1 other 4 Quote
TrueHoosier62 Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 Does anyone know if Josh Dix plays football? With the loss of Morris for the season to a knee injury, coach Cigs might be able to use Dix in the slot or tight end position. NashvilleHoosier 1 Quote

Do you think he just got dumber in one year? Ballo’s PER dropped to his second lowest of his career and his second lowest shooting percentage over his career. They made the choice of chasing a bag instead of getting paid more and finding a good fit for their skill sets. The other two coaches were able to maximize them. Agreed, bad fit was part of it. Bad coaching too. Can't underestimate being in the PAC12 as well. The B1G was also deeper/better as a conference as a whole. lillurk 1 Quote

Assuming IUs budget is one of the tops in the country Lville doesn’t have any more money to offer someone like Conwell. They just choose to pay him more. Yeah, but don't they already know (roughly or specifically) how much money has been allocated to players already on the team? Quote
