The buyout isn’t an issue, it’s structured where we pay out 1M a year til he’s paid in full. We paid 10M+ to can Tom Allen

I will never root against IU, but I have admittedly lost interest in IUBB with Woodson at the helm. I was paying attention on my phone last night at a high school swim meet for my boys, and finally thought "maybe this is it". Hopefully this is it. The boos, the chanting, the unengaged fan base. Dolson is paying attention....maybe we have Cignetti to thank. Flip the Brad/Dusty coin and lets get on with it.

I was one of the biggest “we need to hire a name” posters. Now, though, idk. Coach Cignetti wasn’t a name. The Louisville and UK coaches weren’t names. Dusty May was sorta a name but was making a big leap in competition. With the way NIL favors a school like IU, the biggest thing we need is a grinder who breathes, eats, and lives college basketball 365 days a year.

I coach an 8th grade basketball team and typically have the flexibility to plan my practices around IU games and other personal events. Last night I didn't even bother switching practice to another night. Never thought I'd see the day

If they were to announce he is retiring, then more grace would be given during the season.  That does not mean there would be no boos from the crowd but I am pretty sure it dials that pressure down a lot.

 

There’s frankly zero downside to making that announcement now, imo. Usually you wouldn’t because you don’t want to lose your recruits. We only have one recruit committed, aren’t really going hard after anyone else in the 2025 class right now, and the kid we do have sounds like he committed to IU and not so much to Mike Woodson.

Calling my shot: they announce Woody is retiring at end of season on Friday the 24th around 5pm. Next home game is Sunday the 26th at noon. IMO, no way the admin can let another game like yesterday happen again. They need to preempt the madness

Debbie Downer enters the chat.  

Not to bring the room down, but the math to 10 wins and the tournament bubble still works (regardless of the crap play we saw last night).  The Penn State win allows us to lose IL.  So we are now even.  Have to will all remaining home games.   However, Ohio state, Northwestern and Washington all look beatable on the road as well -- so there is still room for some trade offs.  It is what it is.  

Now back to -- Fire Mike Woodson.   :)

I don't think he should make it to the end of the season.  Need to go ahead and hand the keys off to someone lse for the rest of the season.

This is how I see it too.  I would love a McCollum or someone like that, just have to hope Scott can parse out who won’t translate to IU like Archie.  It’s hard for us as a fans to tell, we aren’t in the interviews with these guys.

I get it… makes no difference ultimately IMO but they do need to announce that a change will happen at some point to avoid toxicity boiling over and escalating beyond the ugliness we saw yesterday. If they don’t make it clear a change is coming soon, yesterday was as gentle as it’ll ever be

Next 2 games are on the road so there won't be crowd chants and people emptying the stands like they were headed to a free all-you-can-eat buffet with an open bar.  After Friday night's game there's a 5-day break before we're at NW and then a 4-day break before we're back home against MD.  I'm not necessarily of the opinion a termination will happen before Friday, but if there will be one, it will be before the MD game on the 26th back in SSAH.
