Also, how long has he been out of coaching? Longer than The Parasite King was, I think. Yeah, I just don't see it. Things are way different now. And after having the structure of the NBA (drafts, contracts, salary cap) vs. college (NIL, revenue sharing, unlimited transfers) why would any sane person take a college job? Learning how to put a team together. No one forgets how to coach. But not everyone can assemble a team. I dominated the junior high ranks for 6 years coaching, then took 10 years off and came back better than ever. :-) Did you use the hottest mom strategy to pick the team? :) AZ Hoosier 1

Boston being sold means nothing. He’d be the hottest GM on the market and close to the hottest NBA coach on the market if that was reality. I’d like to think IU still has that kind of pull, but there’s nothing about our program to convince me of that. It would be like Harbaugh going to Michigan. The only people on planet earth that thought he’d go back to college were Michigan fans. And that’s a guy whose dad coached there, played there, and grew up in Ann Arbor. Hope I’m wrong I guess, but I just can’t get on the Stevens train. It’s Dusty May first and then work the list. cybergates 1

Our prior coach was not liked very well by many of the top instate talent. I like that your closest analogy is a case where the long-shot candidate did end up going back home, and won a championship to boot. Stuhoo, Chris007, 8bucks and 1 other 4

Guarantee it would make his life much easier as nobody will expect anything from him. Not much is really expected from him now. All he had to do was take his highest priced team in the league and not get blown out by 20 against average teams. Finish top four and compete and the cooks and Simon's are cutting you another check next spring. The expectations aren't that high.Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk tkbbn 1

Popular Post Stuhoo Posted January 14, 2025 Popular Post Posted January 14, 2025 When generational wealth is 100% guaranteed, a guy like Stevens gets to pretty much do exactly what he wants within his chosen industry vis-à-vis role, location, and level of challenge versus comfort. So there's only one guy who truly knows what his intentions are (and that's if Stevens even knows) and one (his wife) or maybe two or three other people with whom he's shared the factors and leanings toward that decision. In other words, what would make the most sense if you were him is tricky and speculative at best, but multiple options that make sense are possible. Demo, IU Prof, Hoosierinbham and 6 others 9
