Good reasons!

  1. IU is not a better job than UF.
  2. I'm a double Hoosier and my youngest is at UF. The campuses, location, town , and vibe between Gainesville and Btown are remarkably similar.
  3. The B1G is not a better conference that the SEC.

I’ve been to a lot of college campuses and Gainesville is probably #2 behind Btown for me. It’s Btown with tropical weather lol, I nearly went for grad school. It was on the short list. Very cool place.

Because it's a better job and in a better conference? Or why not?

He just left San Fran for Gainsville....

I would say the B1G is a better conference.  Not any more.  Can B1G get back to the better conference? Sure but they better pump money into it like the SEC did over 10 years ago.    B1G has an image problem and right now the talent in the game is heading other places besides the B1G

I wonder if the season could be saved if Kenya took over.. I wonder if Scott has thought of that. This is the best roster of talent since 2016 and they are out of the tournament at this point.

I don't think Scott wants the season to be "saved."  I think he wants to rub Woody's, Buckner's, and anyone else involved, nose in this pile of crap.  Make it as bad and as ugly as possible, so they have zero support from anyone and you can tell them to F off.

Because Woodson has lost the locker room and the product on the floor isn’t getting better, I think most of us want to see a change now just to see if it can bring life back to this team and at least make the tournament

We have to see if our rival beats the brakes off of us, and we have to see if he can get the first IU win in the Kohl Center this century (?) before making a final decision?

This thinks always strike me as quite obviously people making semi-educated guesses and trying to pass it off as inside info.

I can’t even imagine how that internal discussion on something like that would go:  Ok, we’re all in agreement that if we get blown out the next two games, coach goes. If he keeps it to single digits both games, he stays. Single digits in one game? Quinn flips a ceremonial coin. Ok…good meeting everyone. Processes were had.

Well since you put that way!

Makes you wonder if the University has just given up on ever being elite again in basketball? Look at our last 2 hires, neither were ever going to make IU elite again!

Ryan on the postgame basically said that that Woodson thought he was outsmarting Willard at the end and didn't have a backup plan if they didn't switch up on the last possession.  The first 22 minutes or so is of the analyzing of the end of the game.  The guy needs to go!!!

If so, I'd think that either now (with 4 days for the staff to regroup before the next game) or after UCLA (with a 9 day layoff) would make the most sense, logistically. Benefit of now is you still have more runway to salvage something. Benefit of waiting is decreasing the chances of a turnaround that results in pressure to make a Diebler type hire.

I don't think I conveyed myself correctly or you read it wrong.... either way, I think the SEC is a better basketball conference.

Truthfully, I do.

The B1G needs a COMPLETE overhaul in basketball. The men's game is reffed like a 10U Bronze division AAU tourney on a Sunday morning,..... "oh you aren't bleeding, well then no foul, b****"... it's boring to watch.

Also.... we, IU, needs to take the vast majority of the criticism when it comes to "the B10 being down in basketball" if MSU, Purdue, others had the same program and we were where we should be, it would help the B1Gs image quite a bit.

If there are donors complaining now who supported keeping Woody after last season, it would be pretty sweet for Scott to say, "This is what you wanted.  I wanted to make a change, but you wanted to keep him.  Enjoy it."

I think Dolson is playing a smart game here. Let Woody coach, let him fail on his own merits. When we lose 6 in a row, he will lose any leverage he currently has. There is still a path to the tournament, can’t fire him until that path is gone.  A beat down by Purdue will get some fired up. I think we end up with 17 or 18 wins. Missing the tournament and then we move on.

Indeed logical. We need Purdue to win by 40 IMO.

I actually wasn’t looking at that way.  I like this idea a lot better than mine.  He definitely rub their nose in it and it would give him more clout and leverage.  My thinking has changed, burn it down, burn it all down!

A smart game with a tiny bit of risk. There's always the danger of a roster with some talent finally putting it together, albeit on their own.
