AZ Hoosier Posted December 11, 2025 Posted December 11, 2025 Cignetti was making $677,311 during his final season at James Madison. He’s already nearly tripled that figure just from bonuses tied to the 2025 season. That follows a 2024 season during which he more than doubled his JMU salary with bonuses earned at IU. In total Cignetti has earned bonuses of $1.9 million during this 13-0 Big Ten Championship season. Here’s detail on what Cignetti has already earned this year, with the potential to make more during the College Football Playoff: $150,000 for six Big Ten wins. $1 million for a Big Ten championship. $600,000 for reaching the College Football Playoff quarterfinals. He can still earn $700,000 for reaching the semifinals, $1 million for reaching the national title game, and $2 million for winning a national championship. $50,000 for winning Big Ten Coach of the Year, whether through the coaches vote or the media vote. $100,000 for winning any of the major National Coach of the Year honors (AP, the Paul “Bear” Bryant Award, Sporting News, Walter Camp, Maxwell Football Club, or ABC/ESPN). https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-footballs-curt-cignetti-has-almost-tripled-his-james-madison-salary-just-in-bonuses/ mamasa 1 Quote

RoadRage Posted December 11, 2025 Posted December 11, 2025 Actually saw an article today taking a serious look at how much Cignetti would need to buy himself out of the Indiana contract so he could take the Michigan job! Personally, at this point, I will be surprised if they get anything close to an elite coach! Home Jersey, ALASKA HOOSIER and Pagoda 3 Quote

About 25 candidates listed. Cig isn’t one, not even on the board right now. RoadRage, Home Jersey and thebigweave 3 Quote
Home Jersey Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 I'd bet on Jedd Fisch for UM Some people think Matt Campbell really wanted this job. Timing is everything. Pagoda 1 Quote

I read about the first 30 pages of the MSU board posted from the link in the other thread, and they are hearing that they stick with an interim for the next season if they don't get someone UM wants. They would be crazy to do that and be stuck like OSU in their basketball with a Diebler situation. Quote
