I live in the land of Florida fans who are convinced that he will be their next coach. I've even heard some Florida State fans who want to fire their coach just to have a shot at the golden coach. Call me a sunshine pumper, but I doubt he'll leave. I have no doubt however that he's getting calls and will continue to get calls all off-season. Do what you need to do Dolson. Teams are going to need to make a hire before the CFP is even close to over. Leaving this year would mean he leaves a chance to win a title this year. Quote

And some less informed IU fans thought we had a real shot at Drew, Few, Pearl, etc. Doesn't mean someone doesn’t make a call; it’s just that a smart guy like Cig (or Drew, Pearl, Few, etc) knows a good thing when he has it. Another underrated plus for staying? Whitten and Dolson; a smart guy like Cig is well aware that who he directly reports to is worth a ton. rayl456, OGIUAndy and J34 3 Quote
Popular Post Old Friend Posted October 12, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 12, 2025 There is no reason for Cignetti to leave Indiana. He can make enough money to support his family for multiple generations, he has as much support and as solid a relationship with his administration as exists in college sports, he has a solid recruiting base, a huge budget for a stadium upgrade, more loyal and passionate support than any fanbase in America, he can win, he IS winning, he gets the transfers he wants, his wife loves Bloomington (and if anyone is dumb enough to believe that doesn't matter, just block them), and he's kind of the hill at a school where there's no pressure compared to Penn State, Florida, etc. NIL has evened things out. No program has the depth that for decades differentiated blue bloods from everybody else. Once? The 4th tailback at Alabama, who could start at 99% of other schools stayed at Alabama waiting on his chance. Now? He transfers to Texas Tech and plays. Indiana is getting those kids. They have 5* and 4* kids on their sidelines at every home game. Cignetti has exactly what he wants and if it comes down to money? IU has a $3.8 billion dollar endowment, 800,000 living alumni, and can pay he and his staff whatever he wants. Fear not, Hoosiers. He ain't going anywhere. hoopsta007, HoosierSadaseci, J34 and 8 others 10 1 Quote
Popular Post IU5355 Posted October 12, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 12, 2025 Just my opinion. But I think CIG truly believes he is going to win a National Championship at IU. I believe IU is giving him the full reigns of the program and giving him what he needs. CIG will retire here and his statue will stand outside of Memorial Stadium. CSP Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 I mean.. maybe Cignetti is just put off by the university wide cover up of child molestation that the Penn St football program orchestrated. Banksyrules, thebigweave, gohoosiers97 and 4 others 7 Quote

Mujezinovic007 Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 I believe Cig stays. I know IU is again making moves behind the scenes to keep it that way. We should expect an announcement by the athletic department before 10/24 of a juiced-up compensation package for Cignetti & staff, in addition to increased NIL and a fundraising platform for stadium enhancements. HOWEVER, I do not know Cig’s stance on the situation nor am I aware of any discussions with Scott that would pour cold water on the swirling rumors. If the Penn State position is still open at the end of next week with no announcement by IU, I will begin to sweat profusely. Go Hoosiers! Jeff Flabjohns 1 Quote
