This board talked about it ad nauseum.   We have a open roster spot that went unused because they wanted to give Galloway and Gunn the opportunity. Truth is, we aren’t good enough at the 1,2 or 3.  I’ll put our 4 and 5 against anyone.

He’s so good.  I do think he will be back.  MgTaco will likely have a decision to make.  Ware will do enough to leave.  Rebuild the roster next year, with likely similar expectations.   Cupps can’t be our starting 1 on next years team if we are trying to win it all.

Our guard play absolutely sucks. X is hit and miss, Galloway is a sixth man and the CJ Gunn experiment didn’t work. Apparently the whole team doesn’t rebound? I’ve been glass half full under Woody but this season is gonna be tough.

They did get one in MM. Woody just doesn't know how to teach an offense that gets shooters open. It's basically just hoping and praying someone gets open at some point.

I only got to watch the first half. But looking at the box score, it’s very gross how we can only shoot 13’s along with 6 assists. Is Woodson stuck on coaching basketball in 2013? 
 

Nonetheless, it’s only November. Plenty of basketball left, but there’s not much positives to see from the games we’ve seen outside of Gabe and Ware.

Gabe didn't look good at all today. Really like him but was terrible today unfortunately.

Woodson is an improvement over Archie (would be hard not to be), but he’s not elite. And he doesn’t recruit at a high enough level to the point that he wouldn’t need to be elite, a la Calipari. So this is what we get.

The board did indeed endlessly discuss the need for a shooter (but yet  I got shot down for suggesting I wanted a three way 2G with TG coming off the bench)

I agree that we aren’t good enough at the 1,2,3 but there is NO WAY they left an open roster spot to give TG and Gunn the opportunity.  No way  that was the staffs intentional strategy. The coaches went hard after a number of shooters and thought for sure they were getting Kencht, as an example. Unfortunately he went to TN and is averaging. 19.7 per game @54% from the field.

Can't we hire a coach specifically to run the offense or is Woody too proud? Other schools do it, Michigan comes to mind.

Just got back home from watching the game in person…. 
 

Our issue isn’t shooters, our issue is that we have no strategy on offense so we don’t know where we’re getting shots and how to get open looks. Our offense is dump it inside to reneau or ware and pray.. If we do shoot a 3 it’s out of impulse not design and those usually miss…

Also we don’t have anyone like newton #2 for UConn on our team…

I would argue that we are not close to how the game is supposed to be played in 2023…

From top to bottom there is so much wrong with IU basketball. As a program as a whole, not just X’s and O’s…

can someone with insider knowledge let us know if it can be turned around?
