After his first two years, I hope he has all the team success this year to go with his personal accolades. 

Somewhat like Juwan Morgan -- TJD is better but their all around solid games translate to getting wins, and he's underappreciated as an NBA prospect. Morgan made the League, a stat like this further shows TJD should. He's a guy who most NBA teams could use.

Race Thompson's role reminds me so much of the role Verdell Jones took on his senior year.  It's probably not the role he desires -- his minutes and offensive touches have decreased -- but he provides a veteran, steady role out there.

Two times — well, maybe more than that, but I saw it happen twice — Trey got switched onto Bacot. Bacot took him into the post both times…and didn’t get a touch.

Trey should be B1G 1st team all-D this year if he stays healthy. Maybe he doesn’t get it, but he’ll deserve it.

Bingo!! I said that a few weeks ago. Assembly Call guys were a little worried about it. I''m not as much. It's because there is a lot more talent on this current team.

Not that it matters..but UNC fans don't think much of Indiana. A few of the ones I've talked to or seen think we got "lucky".

A good friend of mine, UNC guy and a scout, summed it up succinctly: "IU is just better than UNC at this point."

We haven't had many big wins in the last few years. Nor have we had a team that anyone on a national level took seriously. Keep winning and " lucky" becomes "good" over time.

Was just having a conversation about coaches following up legends. It’s different when a guy has built other programs and has won building things on his own merit. Guys that are hand picked and inherit a legend’s program almost always wilt under the pressure and fail. Some have success but it takes them a long time to establish themselves. 
 

Duke and Carolina will struggle until they hire proven guys. 
 

Hoosiers are in good shape with Woody.

We were very lucky to hit that contested 13 point shot at the buzzer to win by 12. Oh, what's that? There is no 13 point shot? In that case, a double digit win can't be considered "lucky."

So, is it time to panic yet?

Losses happen, and Iowa State, Alabama and Indiana are all good teams. But the way the Hoosiers bullied North Carolina for most of Wednesday's game would cause me to panic if I was a fan of the Tar Heels. Indiana had 50 points in the paint, more than doubling up North Carolina around the rim. It shot 57% inside the arc and outscored the Tar Heels in transition.

When North Carolina was at its best under Roy Williams, it was about two-big lineups and the secondary break. But Indiana was tougher, more physical and more aggressive.

- Besides actually nailing it, what I love here is seeing IU as a 'tough' team again. It's been a minute since we were a legitimate tough team - the Vic / Sheehey et al years, and our front court players are the toughest, most physical IU team I've seen since before then. Really nice to see IU "bullying" UNC. (lol again)

I suspect they will get it sorted out, like last year, but very flawed right now.  Love reminds me a bit of Devonte Green. Can go off for 30 or shoot you right out of a game. 

I think they'll figure it out, like last season, they're very talented, but they didn't handle our toughness at all, their fast break was basically shut down, and they looked out of sync. One question is whether the coaching this season will get them back on track.
