I specifically watched it to see Gallo's reaction.....lol All he did was start grinning when Rice mentioned Woodson feeling like a grandpa.... As much as I look forward to this years roster, and I do, it’s also hard not to wonder what kind of timeline Woody is thinking. I think 3 years including this year if successful. sidenote, someone tell Barrell Rick that Hurley will bolt for an east coast NBA job after this season and UConn will be flailing. Might as well commit to Indiana in the fall than waiting to decommit from UConn in the Spring/Summer when Hurley NBAs. J34, thebigweave, Stuhoo and 1 other 4 Quote
Popular Post Class of '66 Old Fart Posted October 3, 2024 Popular Post Posted October 3, 2024 This from Woody today was sweet music to my ears. Mike Woodson on Jakai Newton: “He can’t go every day, and that’s because we won’t allow him to go everyday. The days he’s been out there, he’s been pretty impressive. “Probably the most explosive athlete on our team playing above the rim.” Dave from Dayton, Demo, HoosierHoopster and 5 others 7 1 Quote

Newton has been an afterthought for many bc of his injury, and not saying those remaining injury questions aren’t warranted, but man this kid is a real talent, so hoping he comes into the season healthy and stays healthy, lots of potential, and we’ve already seen him in a red jersey in practice Artie86, Dave from Dayton, Joe_hoopsier and 1 other 3 1 Quote

He's been spewing spite ever since and this is just the latest example. Nothing to see here. IUHoosierJoe 1 Quote

Dakich should judge the "effeminate" leadership qualities of Myles Rice in the context of this: Myles Rice: "I had to do chemotherapy for seven months between the months of October to, to April I want to say. Yeah and so I had, I did about like two or three different surgeries and two different biopsies after I finished my, my regular scheduled chemotherapy. I got really sick so I had to go back to the hospital for a month-not a month I mean a week and I had a tube in my neck and so that pushed everything back a month and so it was just it was really... it was a hard time for the first month maybe month and a half. Just because your body's getting used to you know all the chemotherapy. And like so I didn't have the energy to really sleep eat. You know just basic everyday things. Sleeping? I'm like I'm sleeping for like 16 hours and sometimes, sometimes I'll sleep for three. Like it it it was bad and on top of that you know just juggling schoolwork or you know do at school." Interviewer: "So you're telling me my man you were doing chemo yes and school?" Myles Rice: "And practice yes. 100% " _________________________________________________________ While undergoing chemo and surgeries, for seven months he stayed in school and attended team practices as an observer. He received his last chemotherapy treatment in March of 2023. He was cleared for contact basketball activities in June of 2023. During the season that started in October of 2023, he was Wash St. student-athlete of the year, conference freshman of the year, 1st team Pac-12, and set the freshman school record in single game scoring, single season scoring, steals, assists, free throw percentage, free throws, and field goals, and played over 33 mpg on a team that went 25-10, 14-6 in conference.
