Well... I don't see a win because we've been cursed like that. I don't remember the last time we won a big game that really put us over a hump. We've not been ranked since January of Romeo's freshman year. A win today would certainly put us in the Top 25. Many want to say "it's just a ranking m, I don't care" but the perception of that works wonders. Finally getting that monkey off our back, even if we are only ranked for a week. This is a huge game, that we've lost so many times before the last few years.

I still remember the Vonleh year IU wore a cream colored alternate against Illinois in the big ten tournament and Vonleh wore a bright white undershirt. It was hideous, and of course so was IU's play that day.

Indiana beat Kansas in alternate uniforms in 2016.

It has gone from IU -2, two hours ago, to now Illinois -2. I am assuming most people  were betting the Illinois +2

This seems to be another "get over the hump" game if you will in regards to finally getting ranked. 

We've lost basically every one of these over the last few years. Close enough, but just can't quite get there.

That reason alone is why I'm hoping for a win so bad, never mind picking up another win against a ranked team in the B1G.

A win would be so incredibly enjoyable. But when we play really good teams, we won’t win them all.

A win is not necessary for the tourney or the program’s future, but let’s go get one anyway.
