WayneFleekHoosier Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 I can't wait to see what he can do in a full recruiting cycle. He's been here less than a month and already blown me away. I’m excited to see the potential. The Bates commitment and the offers so far are incredibly intriguing. I guess I don’t have to be a fair weather fan afterall. Thank goodness. Im already all in. I will be very critical of the product, as you all already know. LolSent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app Str8Hoosiers, thebigweave, lillurk and 4 others 6 1 Quote
NOLA Hoosier Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Just came here to say the turnaround from that absolute plank of wood Archie to Woody is shocking. I knew it would probably be pretty cool, but I am actually stunned by the progress in just a few weeks. Alford Bailey, LIHoosier, Chris007 and 4 others 7 Quote
Alford Bailey Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 Not sure we could ask for any more out of this staff at this point. Major upgrades to the roster and maybe not done. bleedhoosier 1 Quote

Can you imagine if he had ended up at IU and Mike Davis trying coach the uncoachable? I just can't imagine Davis doing well with him. Probably better for both that it never happened. Popular Post Stuhoo Posted April 24, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 24, 2021 I’m confused how message boards get a reputation of overblown reactionary complaining when unlike most columnist ‘experts’, this board identified Woody’s strengths from the get go. Columnists must be spending too much time with the Purdue and UK boards. lillurk, moyemayhem, FWHoosier84 and 7 others 10 Quote
darB s'tI Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 So what, if any, moves do Woodson and company make regarding the departure of Mike Roberts from the coaching staff? Quote
Dave from Dayton Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 It seems that Mike Roberts had moved from the coaching staff to an administrative job working for Dolson not Woodson. So as far as the coaching staff, it is already set. Roberts leaving may have been anticipated by Indiana. Chris007 1 Quote

Having Hunter and Roberts around after Miller was fired and before CMW was hired certainly kept the ship from capsizing. Once CMW came on board, it seemed clear Roberts was not likely to be retained as a coach, but Dolson rewarded him for his fealty by appointing him a job in the athletic department, while allowing him to seek a more desired position in coaching. That level of loyalty just feels right. Kudos, ADSD LIHoosier, Evariste Galois, Hippopotamo and 11 others 13 1 Quote

I would love to have a former player fill that role - maybe an A.J. or a recent player... like Hulls, Watford, Johnson, or Hartman. Robert Johnson would allow the staff to bridge the IU generations almost completely with the former players on the staff: Early Knight years: Woodson Late Knight & Davis years: Fife Crean & Miller years: Johnson Chris007 1 Quote

LamarCheeks Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 Interesting thing about the Mike Roberts situation. It's been speculated this would happen, so it's not a surprise. But there's still no official word yet -- from Indiana (that he's leaving) or Cincy (that he's been hired). The only indication -- other than speculation from folks here who might have some inside info -- this is gonna happen is Goodman's tweet. Just to see if it actually had been confirmed, I googled "Mike Roberts, Indiana" and found 3-4 stories saying that he was leaving -- but the only source is Goodman's tweet. Guess nobody -- other than Goodman -- has done any reporting on it. Granted, it's a very small potatoes in the big world of college basketball -- but it's still interesting news to us IU fans. Quote

I would assume this is going to be a recent GA from IU or from another school. Doesn't seem like a very big role. Chris007 1 Quote
