Nonymouse is right. No coach has ever denied interest in a job and then later took the same job. 
 

And it’s clearly destructive that a fan base with no control over a coaching search have a little fun with it and engage in some wild speculation/mildly informed guessing.

Announcement 4/3 prior to games for a ton of publicity (not that he’d have to be off for that but he’d be able to avoid direct media contact)? Presser 4/5 prior to championship for even more publicity?

Then at some point Brad and IU brass/boosters started talking to see if their was interest because IU new Archie wasn’t the answer. Brad was frustrated and was willing to listen. So IU fires Archie because a booster paid 10 million for him to hit the road. I really appreciate your insight. If there is interest, I don’t understand the timing sensitivity?  What does a week delay matter?
