I'd add to this the fact that Stevens hasn't squashed the idea publicly over the last day and a half as the rumors continue to build -- like he did in 2017 -- along with the fact that no one else has been linked to the job in the press in the last few days.

I look at it like this, this is a fluid situation, just like everything else in this world. At this point, things look promising that Coach Stevens is coming home and that's exactly what our friends 007 and 0708 are saying. Nothing is certain in life, so quit asking these guys if this is a done deal. Things can always change, no matter how "guaranteed" they may seem. 

In the meantime, quit worrying and get some satisfaction that our beloved Hoosiers are finally swinging for the fences. Better days are ahead.

I don't think so.  That is essentially what the Celtics forced the Clippers to do in order to release Doc Rivers.  Danny made them cough up a first round pick in order to release Doc to sign with the team.
