Carmelo is a first ballot hall of famer and was in the middle of his prime. Tyson Chandler was a year removed for DPOY. JR Smith was a knucklehead but he was very talented. And they were playing in a weak conference. Jason Kidd was pretty good too :-) Hoosierfan2017 1

His resume doesn't stick out at all. Hey look, I can do it too!! This is probably the best comparison. If you start with a lousy product and improve it over time, you are a good coach. Period. Technically speaking, Allen has only had two winning seasons at IU... I think we would all now agree that he is the IU football coach by divine right.
Popular Post IU Prof Posted March 24, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 24, 2021 It seems to me it makes perfect sense that Dolson would move from Stevens to interviewing retirees and IU grads. All of the other top candidates were still coaching until this past weekend, so it would make perfect sense to get the interviews with the others out of the way while you wait for your top candidates to free up. That way you can say you covered all your bases, and don't waste the down time. FWHoosier84, go iu bb, woodenshoemanHoosierfan and 13 others 16
Popular Post IU Prof Posted March 24, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 24, 2021 I'd also add that I wouldn't place any urgency on the search just because a few guys enter the portal. The program needs a massive infusion of talent. Losing a few current players, even someone like Franklin, might be a step back next year, but is a small price to pay for getting the right hire in place for the long-term. go iu bb, Ryno6284, thebigweave and 7 others 10

Those were the only names brought up except Stevens of course I have to think it is because they can't really talk to them because their season is going on or just ended...just my thoughts. Love you Chris, but I don’t see how Thad Matta would be looked at as a better hire then Chris Beard, Musselman, or Oats. Not even Belein for me. My complaint is that Dolson better exhaust the elite P5 options before moving on to Woodson. If they all refuse the job then fine. We have to hire someone, and I’d rather it be Woodson than a mid major guy. But if we just go right to Woodson without exhausting the above mentioned guys... Yikes. moyemayhem 1

Home court doesn’t really matter in the NBA. everyone knows Miami was better than those Pacers teams but we still managed to get home court over them. It’s how the NBA works. I can’t see any argument that those Knicks teams were better than Indiana on paper. Their only advantage was Melo, and even then Paul George went toe to toe with him and was arguably better.
