I graduated from there in 2013.

Well you’re just a pup! Go Artesians! I hate Notre Dame, but I love hearing their school song. It’s the same tune as Martinsville’s.

Thanks to Coach Bill Siderewicz,  he was hired in the early 70’s Martinsville’s football program was terrible. He wanted to start a tradition so the gold pants because of the connection to Notre Dame’s school song and the stripes on the shoulder pads to reflect UCLA and Wooden.
Sorry, got off topic and went back in time a bit! Good times, they were.

Now, let’s go reel in this BIG FISH!!!

Goodness.  McCollum goes from competing in a Guppy Bowl to the Shark Tank in 1 season.  He will be eaten alive.  We’ve got a Archie Miller part 2 upcoming.  Has no idea what it takes at that level to win and recruit.  F me.

Pretty sure you said the exact same thing about Dusty May a year ago.

Honestly less excited than I was for the Woodson hire and that’s saying a lot because I hated that hire too. Slow paced boring offense and zero clue the athleticism that will be needed to win at this level.  He’s in for the rudest of awakenings.  Most coaches don’t need rebuilding phases in the portal era but McCollum is gonna need a few learn the ropes seasons.  Indiana isn’t the place to do that.  F Me again.

If we couldn’t get Brad or Otz or someone like this, then I am completely stoked by this hire. He’s got a long track record of winning, he’s got a strong scheme and culture, and he produces point guards—just like Cig produces quarterbacks.

Post-Archie trauma seems to be a real thing on this board, but this is an exciting day to be a Hoosier!

Let’s hope our NIL money will convince Stirtz to put off the NBA one more year.

This. 100%

Mccollum is gonna do well here.

Many here will want to wear the crown of leading the McCollum bus when we are all celebrating his success here some day.

I think Magnamious and Ryno may be the earliest ones I'm aware of!

It would be a long shot to hope for more of a name, just not where IU is as a program.

I don't think this Goodman tweet is definitive by any means.

Not gonna pull a championship caliber coach. Gotta find someone undervalued.

Douchey analogy but ... like stocks, buy low, sell high.

Better him than a "proven" P5 guy who has been mid most of his career IMO.

Eventually they will get it right. Lot to like in McCollum's profile.

Yes it's a risk. The upside makes the fan in me feel excited, not doom and gloom.

Google him. He wins. (I know that's getting old already lol)

Hasn’t been one for a long time.

If we hire McCollum we can all agree that it could be again, but that there’s certainly risk with every hire.

The thing I like best about McCollum? I’ve now heard enough of his interviews and the thing I’ve learned about him is that he is an obsessive compulsive “details matter” coach.

Stu coming around to the idea? Welcome aboard sir!

I love it. Dolson gets fans to lower expectations for McCollum then hits them with the hammer. Such a big time move.

Remember last time Goodman said Holtman was almost a done deal.

Speaking of Holtman, he is doing a nice job in his first year at Depaul.  Wouldn't be surprised if he has them competitive in the Big East in a couple years.  Seems like a good fit for him.

You might want to read the article posted by Jersey. I mean maybe you are a d1 coach and know your **** but he sure as hell gets a lot of praise from guys that are making everyone coaching search list. You can’t ask for much more as a coach than being know. By your peers as a brilliant ******* coach who is searched out by these same coaches to learn from him. Take a breath

Absolutely. Would be a huge middle finger to the alumni who have given so much money throughout the years. What a small time, non serious, joke of a hire (if Goodman actually has any clue).

He’s one of the premier midmajor candidates lmao. It’s proof that we are still relevant. If we weren’t, the biggest / hottest names at that level would not want to come here. It’s far less likely, and happens far less frequently, that big names jump to other programs when they are successful. Stop wallowing. Start enjoying.

I will trust Dolson but this is an incredible risk. Arguably the riskiest hire of all. Going from D2 to Indiana in 1 year is no small feat. I admit, I hope this is a smokescreen…and if we do indeed hire McCollum…it’s a gut punch in terms of how coaches look at Indiana. We aren’t as wanted as we seem to think. Sampson, Crean and even Archie were regarded as top of the line coaches…Woodson was just a brain fart hire. This is odd.

I hate it so much. I guess I like the youth and passion and winning.  The transition will be brutal for him.  Indiana brand and money doesn’t even have pull anymore.  Damn. Sad day for me. That loss then this news.  Even Dolson treats it as a low P5 job.

The tweet said "one of" the candidates. Get a grip.
