The Brownell rumors are more substantiated (media people talking about it) than the Stevens rumors (IU message board posters are really the only people speculating about it). Nothing inconsistent about that. Pretty linear thought process. The thought process of posters on here and how they express those thoughts are anything but linear. That’s exactly why some of it is hard to believe. Alford Bailey and MikeRoberts 2

Brad Stevens should have never been a point of discussion to begin with. These last two months just shows how far out of touch with reality most of this fanbase is. Adillac Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Almost all relevant and even not relevant programs have been able to hire a competent coach over the last 30 years except Indiana. It’s amazing that our university still cannot do it. Even after Archie and Woodson they still can’t do it. It’s stunning. Hornsby and Sandman 2

pumpfake Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I can see the next week or two going as follows: - When we are excluded or eliminated from the NCAA tournament we clamor for the announcement of the new coach. If it goes on for a couple of days, pessimism about Stevens/Wright/Donovan/Wade not being the choice becomes deafening. - Then, as other candidate's teams drop out, we eagerly expect word of their announcement. Each time we don't get announcement the monkeys get louder. - If it goes on until the FF, we begin panicking unless one of those teams is coached by a perceived candidate. Otherwise, rioting begins. - If nothing announced the day after the NC.....pure bedlam and absolute destruction. God, I hope we know within a week! Pagoda and go iu bb 2

I was hesitant. Trevor may turn out to be prophetic. We shall see. I don't think it's over, but I think the hot board has people in the correct ranges. Home Jersey and VFury 2

Mr. Hoosier Pride Posted March 16 Posted March 16 It's always when positive Stevens vibes are brought to the board...another coach's name immediately comes up as the leading candidate...and the board goes bonkers...Let's test...Confirmed: Stevens to IUSent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk thebigweave 1

What are the strong reactions against Brad Brownell and all the love for Ben McCollum about? I get Brownell hasn’t got to the tournament much at all, but he has been at flipping Clemson. He has had, count them, 1 losing record at a football school deep in ACC country which used to be arguably the best conference in basketball. IU is not too big for him. McCollum has been in D2. How do we know he can handle this job? He is a huge risk. For me, he is just another blah hire. As you mentioned, he was in a tough ACC and he was a 18-14, I rarely make the tournament coach, when he had that type of competition. The most successful he has had has been when that league fell off...hard. Indiana does have some built in advantages and one of them is negated out the door for him. Even the casual fans are going to be, "Who?!" on that type of hire. Other schools have money. MSU, UM, Purdue, Louisville, and Kentucky are teams that are probably going to need to be fought off pretty hard for recruiting and in the portal you have to hope that your boosters (who loved Woodson) are going to be willing to throw the same cash behind a meh hire. McCollum is at least a hope hire. It isn't love for him so much as it is really disliking the idea of Brownell. Brownell is just throwing in the towel. Which whatever, if that is what Indiana wants to do I don't the summer bull **** tour and all the "This is Indiana" type of crap they run out every year. This hasn't been INDIANA in a long @$$ time and landing on ******* Brad Brownell would just be a complete capitulation. And that dude is getting one year. He rolls out 19-13 in year one, the fans are going to lose their **** on Dolson and the entire AD, particularly if hires they have passed up the past few years are performing well. If Dolson took a year thinking he would need to make this hire and all he could come up with is the mediocre @$$ coach from Clemson, then he failed miserably. Yeah seen the guys over at Peegs bitching about the guys on BTB who bet on Brad Stephens to be the new IU coach (really??? If you want to throw money away just send me a check.) Thought I should check the place out. Seems a few of the old timers have passed on. Haven't really paid much attention to IU BKB in years, but really interested in this coaching search. I think Dolson is the guy who'll get it right and set IU BKB up for the next decade or two. Here's hoping! I want to actually enjoy watching the games. Glad to see you are alive and kicking! Damn, talk about ghosts...How you been? Long time, no post! Hope all is well! HoosierReb01 1
