HoosierHoopster Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Todd Golden and Darian Devries are both interesting but with limited NCAA tournament experience, probably rolls of the dice though both have good track records VFury 1

Those two are far less of a roll of the dice than almost any. Golden’s only risk are his personal issues and potential for future personal issues similar to Beard, but without the alcohol issues. 8bucks and Home Jersey 2

Chaos on the board after Goodman’s tweet, as Brad Stevens said he was happy being at Boston. Before that, it seemed like Brad was going to sign a contract on Monday. And now everyone is guessing what other coaches could come here. Timeline of yesterday: 1. Sounds like an agreement was in the place yesterday morning and Stevens was (or is) going to sign a contract on Monday. 2. Goodman tweets out that Stevens told him he is not a candidate for IU and loves being in Boston. Although some are arguing that it wasn’t a hard “no” and it was soft-vague announcement. 3. Seems like no one knows what is going on right now, although it’s been reported by Rabby that the IU side believes that wasn’t an no and merely front office speak. Others are thinking this ship has sailed and it’s time to move on to candidates. Trilly thinks it’s over, but someone on said on here that is was his opinion and was pretty confused. 4. A lot of “I told you so” on here IU22, Juwan Moye, maxwell and 1 other 3 1

Im guessing it will stay this way until a story breaks when we actually have an agreement in place (with whoever the new coach will be). I just can’t imagine people connected enough to know contract numbers are throwing them around. I could be wrong. Just my opinion. I have no idea if or who you know/talk to or if you're just bs'ing as well but this is very honest and realistic inside information. I am way more inclined to believe that only a handful of people, if even that many, actually have any clue what Dolson has going on right now. ghostofnormandale, BGleas and cybergates 3
Stuhoo Posted February 15 Posted February 15 By the way, in my opinion the ONLY way Oats or Golden would show interest in IU is to leverage it toward a raise/extension. Because they ain’t leaving their current gigs. Scotty R, kottke, AKHoosier and 2 others 4 1
OKHOOSIER Posted February 15 Posted February 15 I think Buzz has moved into my list. Haven’t watched much A&M but they play very hard. Also, we haven’t really talked about Tommy Lloyd or is it just understood he’s a west coast guy and wouldn’t leave Zona? Arguably pretty lateral, but if we are throwing around huge offers for established coaches seems like we could make a run at him.

HoosierInParadise Posted February 15 Posted February 15 With all the Stevens and, for some reason, Cronin talk I probably missed this....but why are we putting Pearl in the same category as Beard with regard to IU not even considering him? Is it because of recruiting issues he had at previous stops?

I’d be thrilled with him, but best case we’d be doing this all over again in 8 or so years. Also a ton of rumors about a head coach in waiting for his son which I’m guessing would be a nonstarter for IU. HoosierInParadise and kottke 2

I just don't see him leaving Auburn. I think he retires there and makes his son take over the reigns. HoosierInParadise, kottke, thebigweave and 1 other 4
