All the recent game announcers' sappy homages to him, like he's some sort of historic college BB figure saying goodbye after long successful career, only feed his delusions of grandeur.

Although he was a mid coach, he was one of the best players in IU history so he deserves respect  for that. That said, it was time to move on. Think he cared deeply about IU but not the right coach for the job.

Anyone saying Goodman doesn’t have sources is lying to themselves because they don’t like what he is saying. Goodman is very well sourced.

Yep.  People don’t want to hear where we are potentially headed, but it’s more realistic than what we have been shouted down with.  It may not happen, but that’s the type of candidate where it’s been for over a week.  I hope he is wrong on TJO and hope he will be a part of the convo at the end, but doesn’t seem promising there.

Dolson runs a tight ship. Goodman does not have the sources he once had

Given Goodman’s post, which I strongly suspect is accurate, I would place my primary odds on:

McCollum

Beard

with a dash of Murray, Collins, and maybe some NBA young-ish guy.

Though I can’t think of a young NBA guy with real college experience.

Goodman is connected. That said, it is annoying how he seems to find joy out of IU not getting top choices.

Which is why i put zero stock in his reporting.

Dude has an axe to grind. And his reporting should be read with that in mind

I would like to imagine he’s smart enough to understand that, but then again I feel confident he’s smart enough to know “I’m not a candidate” is a, hmm, interesting non-denial quote.*

I don't think it'll be Stevens but the quote he used as Stevens' denial was even weaker  than that. Goodman didn't quote Stevens saying that he isn't a candidate, just that Stevens loved Boston and his coworkers. They way it was posted, it seemed that it was Goodman's  interpretation that Stevens isn't a candidate.

Are we hoping Goodman is wrong or do we actually think it?

I’m afraid he’s a little more plugged in than anyone would care to admit.

He has sources sure.  But having said that, I don’t think he knows anything as far as what Dolson is doing.

Fair. I would throw Brownell and a surprise (high major) coach in there as well.
