The religion talk is interesting.  People coming together for a greater good and having a shared vision would likely be a very welcomed coaching attribute depending on how its handled.  I think A LOT of successful coaches are religious and can teach lessons and help hardships using those morals and principles.

See the last 2 college football championship coaches for validation to what you just posted. Both do what you described above.

And some of you get upset with all the Brad talk. Holy cow. We might need to shut this place down, give it a good deep cleaning for an hour or so, and start over

People will pull at anything by if it means an argument lol

Has anyone ever heard the Nebraska softball team coach and players? They’re not the only example. People are getting WAY too caught up with this. If IU hires him he can very much display his faith while at IU. If he wants to personally lead the team in prayer, he can. I think it’s pretty crazy that he’s going “force” players or staff to submit to his way of thinking. He’s gotten ELITE recruits. You think everyone ND football signs is catholic? Sounds like we’ll lose more fans for hiring a religious guy than if we hired Beard the woman assaulter. What a backwards world we live in.
I think we need to hire an atheist and the drew thread can end. Problem solved. I hope stevens isn't religious.

Drew won a national championship at a school with four tournament appearances in its history before he got there. I could not give less of a crap about his religious preferences. Just win, baby.
You are in the minority it seems. An atheist or bust.

With all the religious talk, how about we perform an exorcism and at least get the Turg n Brownell talk back to Hell where it belongs...

Hypothetically if I’m a high major coach that wanted to jump to a basketball school lets use Scott Drew as an example if I was him I would much rather follow Woodson and his results at IU then  I would Calipari and his results at Kentucky.
This....and also knowing that with Woodson, the media narrative that IU needed to hire "one if their own" or "one from the Bob Knight tree" is now done and debunked helps. Otherwise, the media would continue to push that narrative.

Yes, I thought so. I just remember hearing Ned's name a lot in the past searches but not Fuzzy's. This time Fuzzy name has popped up more and Andy Mohr. I haven't seen it but I hear Fuzzy has a really nice place on Marco Island.

Could be Neds.  I know after the Purdue game in Bloomington Ned was heading back to Florida.  And we always laughed at Fuzzy being brought up on tv about his tickets when they're Neds tickets.

The good news is that less than four weeks we’ll know who our next coach is.

*Fanfiction*

Hoosiers make a run to the Final Four, hire Brad Stevens after they punch their ticket. Stevens serves as Woodson's first assistant, helping lead Indiana to their first Title since 1987!

With all of this religious talk, I have to pass this on.  I happen to have lunch with a client today and found out they were Cliff Marshall's first cousin (or so they said).  He told me that Cliff tried to get a job at UK and was later told not to since there would be a coaching change and nothing for sure with a new coach.  The main thing is that he wants to get back close to home where he wants to be a preacher around his family.  Didn't know he was from that area but if he wants to be a preacher and he is on the staff....  Well, can we have that.  JKJK

Anyway, he said the athletic department and kids all love him there and he is hopeful that he will remain on staff with the new coach coming in.

So, about hiring coaches based on coaching...

You can't hire them based only on coaching. They represent the university, whether for good or bad.

Things other than coaching could also have an effect on their ability to do the job well. Millers lack of personality seriously hindered him at IU and should have been a huge red flag, for example.

I think Ned and Fuzzy own at least one of the planes together.

Ned's place is in Boca, Fuzzy is in Marco. Both have beautiful homes in Florida though
