Reached out too or been turned down? May and Stevens aren't coming to IU. Neither is Pearl, neither is Oats, neither are a bunch of these other names being floated. And if we aren't going to go after Cronin and refuse to talk to guys like Wade/Beard, this is what your candidate list most likely appears as of today

Tier A

Drew/Otzelberger (don't see him leaving Ames)

Tier B

Brad Brownell

Tier C

McCollum/Byington

You're vastly overestimating the IU job and how it pertains to certain candidates.

I’ll just say I’m encouraged by Chris’ tone today

For sure , also (knock on wood) the lack of Stevens contract renewal or news with the Celtics . That would be the straw that broke the camels back for me .

even with the hoops team playIng better and if they make a little run next week and make the tourney 3 more weeks of this ugh it’s tough .

For having a realistic perspective?

Otzelberger would be a home run and Drew would be a very solid hire. I wouldn't be thrilled with Brownell but would be interesting if given the right resources and support, his honey-moon would last about 2 weeks however.

McCollum/Byington are a flip of the coin.

Who do you think IU is hiring?

I understand what you're saying and that might be the key to all of this and hoping you are right...there have been at least some whispers and discussions going around and if he gets key backing of some boosters again. It's not necessarily a foregone conclusion.

Mike Woodson will not be Indiana’s coach next year. Period.

The lack of Stevens + Celtic News can be encouraging, however I don't know that there's necessarily a rush to do anything with front office contracts at all before they get the ownership all figured out.

Here's the real question, when they do announce a new coach in a few weeks, do they wake Hill up for the announcement or just roll him out the door chair and all?

I think he's already packed up his home in Bloomington. He's ready for the Florida sunshine!

I believe he will leave on his own volition and will walk away carrying...

Hearing more names like this. Before it gets to unproven names like McCollum or McMillan, there’s a faction that sees a move to a Groce or Alford.

John Groce, Akron Zips

John Groce has turned the Akron Zips into a powerhouse in the Mid-American Conference. The Zips have won two of the last three MAC tournaments and have gone 157-86 under Groce. Prior to coaching at Akron, he spent five years in the Big Ten with Illinois, where he went 95-75 and reached the NCAA Tournament once. He also won two MAC tournament titles as head coach of the Ohio Bobcats from 2008 to 2012. His tenure with the Bobcats was highlighted by a trip to the Sweet Sixteen in 2012.

Groce’s ties to the state of Indiana could make him an enticing candidate. A native of Muncie, Indiana, he started his coaching career at Taylor University in the NAIA before serving as an assistant for the Butler Bulldogs.
