FWIW Brownell signed an extension last summer, he makes 3.5 with set raises. I seriously doubt we would give someone like BB a raise to leave. His current contract would have him in the upper half of the B1G as it stands. My guess is he is angling for more NIL funding for his program, not any actual desire to leave.

He has minimal pressure, Clemson is an absolutely gorgeous area to live with extremely low cost of living and nice lakes, nice weather, and has decent support for a non-basketball school. The Clemson campus reminds me of Bloomington more than any campus I have visited, but with the added advantage of mountains and mild winter. Great little town. I love Btown, and there are almost no college towns I would put ahead of it but Clemson is one of them in terms of livability. I would honestly be pretty surprised if he really wants to leave all that for IU. Smells like agent smoke to me. JMO

Brad has signed. Will hear about this publicly before noon today. If not then disregard me forever. I TOLD you all to be patient and didn't listen but I'm in too good of a mood now

Yeah I mean I can promise you all this isn’t true.

This is the least believable thing posted today including Isaacs latest offering.

Still can't admit you're wrong that IU doesn't fire and remove coaches mid-season for poor performance?

Guys on some other sites are talking like he is going to make a deep tourney run because he took down powerhouses Washington and Penn State. They said the same thing late last year and then he got blown out by Nebraska.

I hope he does make a deep tourney run, I'll be cheering like hell. But going on a Cinderella run as a 10 seed wouldn't change how I feel about him moving forward.

Do you think it’s possible that, while some of your info may be correct, someone found out you’re talking and posting here so they’re giving you some wrong info on purpose?  Sort of like when you initially said what you heard was part of the smokescreen?

Ok, I was one of the last Brad holdouts. I had been told like others that he wanted to coach again but the timing was not right before. I was holding onto the stories that others had reported about offers and counter offers. However more recently I was told that he was not interested at all now because his daughter was playing on a state contending soccer team in Massachusetts and he was not willing to move her. There is also a chance with the change of Celtics ownership, he might have an opportunity for a minority equity stake.  That could dwarf IUs best offer. I also was told that he wouldn’t allow the discussion to get to talking dollars this time, so I discount the offer rumors. I have given up on that white whale dream, That having been said, I am underwhelmed with the possibilities on the board. If I had any confidence that Brad was a consideration in two years, I think Woody coming off a deep NCAA run might be preferable to four years of a second or third tier candidate that would be divisive and have a sizeable percentage of this board crowing about what an obvious stupid hire it was after every loss. I am sorry but this is getting tiresome

Is this one of those things where you tell someone something nice before them horrible news? Or is this C(K)athy with a new bizzarro process?

Oh and could anything be more divisive than a minute more of MW after seasons end?

Um, he wasn't -- for any of those. Which was my point.

Nobody would associate his name with IU if he weren't from Indiana.

Haven't we seen this movie before (MDW)?
