We’re in an appealing situation definitely, but the top two candidates being off the board before the end of February is discouraging. It’s like recruiting. No one recruit will make or break you. There are still some good options out there. Just have to land one.

Dusty took the Michigan job last year and has had a very good first season. Seems totally happy in Ann Arbor. It’s simply unrealistic to expect anything other than him signing an extension.

If indeed Dusty stays at UM that’s a gut punch. Very unfortunate. Slap in a moral clause and get Beard…he will win championships in Bloomington. It’s time. A Cronin and or Buzz hire doesn’t do it.

I actually wonder whether Beard would even finish out the season with Ole Miss if IU hired him... think he would leap at the job if offered. Tend to agree with folks that the DV allegations make it so that IU won't look at him.

Gut punch but I’m not totally convinced May is completely out of it but chances take a hit. If we can’t get May, get Beard. Make no mistake, Beard was not my first choice…but now it’s time. He will win championships and this is what we need. I’m fully on the Beard train now.
