I’m going to choose to believe that’s false/fake. I can see him being on a list of a 4th or 5th tier of coaching candidates, but no logical way he’s higher than that. I would rather take an up and comer that Brownell. Like I said, not gonna let that get me down, because I refuse to believe IU is that unserious about its program. Did you think they were serious when they hired Woodson?

Also would be curious to see how well he gets along with the coaches in the state. Remember Crean was disliked there towards the end of his tenure. Mick seems far more abrasive. Dusty May is the only guy, outside of Stevens, that I think checks all of the boxes. This year he checked the last one. He’s about to win the league in year 1 at Michigan. I personally think he turns us down. Same. I think his Year 1 success gets the attention of the big money folks at UM and he gets a contract/staff budget/NIL boost and he elects to keep building there. UM is a good school and lower pressure gig. All we can offer is perhaps a little more money and easier transfers, but we are also a tire fire. Not hiring him after last season was likely a huge mistake and just classic IUBB mismanagement. If we did hire him we would be in fantastic shape right now on the court and recruiting. On the other hand, maybe he loves IU and is confident Scott and Pam have cleared out the old guard so he feels good enough to jump into the tire fire and fix it. Fingers crossed. Unexpectedflash Posted February 16, 2025 Posted February 16, 2025 I think Cronin is a fine coach and would probably have us competing in the top 5 of the conference every year. But i don’t think most people would be happy making him a top 5 or whatever coach to get him to leave ucla JaybobHoosier 1

I don't bother with commenting on other people's rumors and beliefs. It just seems to antagonize them. It takes two to fight. If it costs you your peace, then it is too expensive. Never take criticism from someone that you would not take advice from. Everyone knows about rumors. And some people just do not exhibit critical thinking. Good luck. It was nothing like the money/position we are talking about here, and nothing ever leaked on our end until it was done. The biggest red flag to the update are the actual details. What moron who knew them would talk? But, some people are addicted to hopium. With contract negotiations that have high eye appeal, there’s always someone that talks. Just so many people who try to pry. Reporters, fans, alumni, former players, kids at school who know someone who’s parent is in the heat of it. Happened with Duke and UNC vacancies and with my friends who worked the Soto contract I was told that the manager’s son went on tik tok and was first to leak actual numbers. I’m not saying it’s true but I would imagine that march 2 would be the time I would love for it to be released. Gives Brad time to settle things in Boston and from our end it’s also prior to march madness so we get the publicity and also give announcers at march madness opportunities to bring us up which increases our nil funding through donations. Just my thought process. thebigweave and raorIU 2

Maybe it’s because it’s a public entity that so many people need to be involved but it’s one thing for it to leak that so and so is a top candidate. It’s another thing for details about pay and timing to leak. People should be fired if the details are true. Or, people are hearing what they want to hear. BGleas and FWA-EVV 2
