LamarCheeks Posted February 15, 2025 Posted February 15, 2025 My prediction: We get Stevens ... ... in 2055 After turning us down six times in 30-plus years -- he agrees to make his long-awaited, much-anticipated return to the Hoosier state. "At 78 years of age, I realize -- I'm no longer a Masshole, and am ready to come back to Indiana and live out my childhood dream of coaching the Hoosiers," Stevens said in a press release. Before leaving, Boston throws him a massive party! theriverpilot and Henryville Hoosier 2
TTT Posted February 15, 2025 Posted February 15, 2025 So after all the speculation is IU now back to Brad Stevens as the next IU men’s basketball coach? HoosierInParadise 1

Hoosier987 Posted February 15, 2025 Posted February 15, 2025 I’m pretty sure we would all unite against Brownell. That would be an awful hire. Look at the Clemson message boards. They don’t care if he left. Some are even hoping we take him. Wow. That’s a disaster. Iufan93, hoopsta007, Kentuckysucks and 1 other 4

I don’t know what happened in the negotiations but it always seemed like this was a horse trade to me and in exchange he got the right to pay any termination fee in payments as low as $1M a year; those two things were added to CMW’s contract at the same time.

lillurk Posted February 15, 2025 Posted February 15, 2025 Underwood meets the Thamel criteria and is a good coach. Brownell …think how many dudes would have to say no before we got to him, no offense to BB

Kind of sad. Hiring Brownell wouldn't be kind of sad, it would be very sad. He's having a good year in a crappy ACC. At Clemson, he's only 59% overall and 52% in conference. This is the exact type of hire IU avoids, it would be pathetic but also par for the course. If that does end up being the case, it'll show that Buckner and company may have pushed for Woodson but Dolson was also likely very much on board that train. I guess since Stevens is out of the picture IU is going to IU. Maybe the next AD would get the basketball hire right in 4 years. Scotty R, JF87 and VFury 2 1

Kind of sad. This isn't meant to discredit you. Just sharing my reaction. I would just be very surprised if Scott Dolson told a bunch of AAU coaches on a call who he was hiring, or if he told an athlete board. There's no way he's talking to people like that about the search. If he is, then it's an indicator that's he not really in charge of this, which I think we all agree he is. go iu bb, rcbowla, Class of '66 Old Fart and 14 others 16 1
