Stevens has offer in hand and is using it to hammer out his new extension with the Celtics this weekend. Cross your fingers that maybe the Celtics get stingy this time.

If you don't like the Stevens talk here, or the faith people put in some of the board insiders, there are plenty of other places you can go to talk about Hoosier sports. HSN, for instance, isn't nearly as rumor laden. Just go elsewhere if you don't like the vibes here.

But to just stick around here in order to repeatedly laugh and yell at the posters doesn't make you cool, sophisticated, or interesting. Just tiresome.

I just always thought the point of a message board was to get facts, not read fan fiction that aligns with what readers wish were true. If it’s the latter, my mistake, and no wonder Chris007 has so many fans. He’s the John Green of btownbanners, and I guess that’s what the board wants.

What Cronin said last night about potentially being a candidate at IU (and don't worry; this comes from a free site -- I didn't pirate it). 

 

“I just think it's tough to do that stuff during the season. But actually, you know, the whole thing's gotten so crazy because we had a couple coaches that did it. Tony [Bennett] and coach [Jim] Larranaga. They did it. Leonard [Hamilton]. The coach I replaced, it happened to him during the season. I don't like to see that.

"As far as me, I would never comment on a coaching situation. It would be wildly inappropriate because I’m the son of a coach, and the way I look at it is that Mike Woodson’s the coach at Indiana. Now, that man’s coaching his basketball team, and he was a national champion. I happen to know him. I know Kenya Hunter on his staff extremely well for many years and have tremendous respect for their kids and their team.

"To me, nobody should say anything that distracts anything with them with that. So I just think it would be wildly inappropriate, mostly for what I said, my respect for coach Woodson. He’s over there coaching his team. That’s all that anybody needs to – I understand you guys gotta do your job and ask. That’s my stance on that stuff.”

No, I love IU basketball just like everyone else. I’d like to have a place to discuss it that isn’t fairy tale land. Gonna keep trying to pull this place forward.

Can we all agree that in the absolute long shot that Stevens does become the coach, that these holier than thou posters get a ban? Joined within the last week and then feel like they have to carry it forward? This board has been great without you.

I don't come here all the time and I don't know anyone personally, but this site is where I come for insights on the future for IU basketball. 

If it is all made up, some people are freaks at guessing things.

All I know is we have not had a competent coach at IU with the resources available, like a top 5 NIL purse.  A coach hired that is good at X’s and O’s and identifying players that fits his system should have us in the tournament every year, no matter who it is. It’s all downhill from here if you ask me. I’m excited, just really depressed about another year with my team not in the tournament.

Now that NIL is in place though we should be a much more desired destination. Regardless of how the Stevens situation plays out.
