If you don’t think IsaacTor is a troll I have a bridge to sell you

I was skeptical at first, but he had a couple posts today that are in line with what Chris told us this evening.

He literally said “I’m not a candidate”.  I don’t know what more you can say than that.

HE didn't....sources said....that is a huge difference. If you don't understand that, I can't help you. The only thing quoted that was said by him is the part about his time as a Celtic and liking the people he works with.

Stevens texted Goodman what to say. That’s how this works.

To avoid having 26 reporters texting him every day asking for comment.

Which would be a distraction, glad you agree now.

That dude is probably a troll. Chris has specifically stated that nothing was done multiple times before this got dropped by Goodman. Seems you guys care way too much what a bunch of random guys on the Internet say/think. It doesn’t really matter. Unclench.

Games are getting scheduled remember that. But the 9.2 to 10 rationale isn’t it. I’m over the Stevens dream. I want someone that wants it. Get some fire and mojo back in this program.

We offered him 10 million last time. Not sure why it's unrealistic he'd want that much now.

Color me shocked that Brad Stevens doesn’t want to coach college basketball. Shocked I tell you. Who saw it coming? Cannot believe people on this board fell for this BS for weeks/months. Shame on those who pushed this narrative.

Options:

-Overpay for Dusty May

-safe hire Ben McCollum

-get risky and advantageous and buyout Mick Cronin (would be very happy)

-be smart and hire Will Wade (home run)

So we care to much about what random guys say on the internet as you guys get all worked up about us calling out trolls on the internet

goes both ways man

ive had lots of good discussions here this week since joining. None of them have been about Brad Stevens.

you can put me on ignore if you don’t like what I have to say. I’m going to continue to have conversations with posters about actually coaching candidates and continue calling out the BS I see

you don’t have to like it or me for that matter. More power to ya

There are several great candidates out there. I honestly feel like the pool is much better this time around compared to 2021. Sure I'd love Dusty May. He is the top option. But...Why does nobody want Cronin or McDermott? I'd be thrilled if Indiana got them.

Cronin has won at places that don't have the resources like IU...yes I know it's UCLA but still. Once he got Cincy going they made the tournament every year. At UCLA in his second year they had a final four run. Two Sweet 16's the seasons after that. They look like a team that can make a run in March. His teams play hard. I also think his personality is EXACTLY what this program needs. Look how UCLA has done since he called the team out.

McDermott did an incredible job taking Creighton from the MVC to the Big East.  Starting in 2019-2020, Creighton has been a contender to compete for their conference championship and to make the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament. I think they almost got to the Final 4...lost to San Diego State in a crazy game if I remember.

I just don't get all the complaining. I'm sick and tired of watching this crappy play of basketball. As a fan, I want this team to contend for Big Ten Championships and make deep runs in March. Make it to the second weekend, anything can happen. Dusty May has proven he can do this. But so has Mick Cronin and Greg McDermott. I'd go as far to say IU is a top 20 team this year with either one of these guys coaching.

Indiana probably isn't going to have a coach until late March. I'm trying my best to get behind this team and hope they can maybe make some kind of run. If not, I'll enjoy the rest of college basketball. I think Dolson will get this hire right. It just can't be Stevens or bust. Yes, he was my #1 choice. But he doesn't want to be here.

I'll go:

1) May

2) Drew

3) Cronin

4) McDermott

McCollum is the safe hire and Cronin is risky? I’ll have what you’re having :)

I don’t believe it.

Then we go offer 4 for Woodson immediately after?

My point is .8 million at that level does not a difference make.

Plus Indiana doesn’t want to spend at that level or they would. Might sound good to agents to get their phones ringing though.

A distraction *for him* that he knows isn’t going to end otherwise. If he was taking the job, he’d know it was ending soon. Surely you see the difference.

That makes way too much sense.

I mean, Woj did report we offered 7/70 million. I dont see why he would lie about that.

Tyme is back. Lol. If “overpaying” for May is still an option, let’s try that.
