Goddamnit. Not gonna lie, this is bad. Say it ain't so Muss! I hated Tom Crean with every fiber of my body. This hits too close to home. Over the last several days I had moved Musselman all the way up to number 2 after Stevens on my wishlist, but this a permanently bannable offense from my top 5, let alone top 3.

However, that said, as bad as that Musselman pre-gamer was, nothing -- and I mean nothing -- will ever top this one right here. The single most cringe inducing moment in the history of sports or otherwise. Never before nor since, had a man's pregame speech singlehandedly lost a game for his team before they had even taken the floor. This was first and only time. Only, this wasn't any old game, no sir. What you're about to witness here was just moments before his team was set to take the floor for a game with a natty on the line.

Yes folks, that's right: this Icelandic abortion of a pregame pep-talk was delivered just ahead of the 2005 National Championship game.

Viewer discretion advised (although something tells me everyone around here, myself included, will find this one rather enjoyable)

It’s funny every time... no exceptions.

Knows how to sell Brad Stevens?

I’m confused

my response was that guys that get hot wives know how to sell.. thus a head coach wants those guys as assistant coaches to sell recruiting.. sorry BS meaning bullsh*t

I feel the exact same way. I fire it up every year just before the national championship game, 15 years running....as well as Christmas, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, 4th of July, New Years, ML King Day, Canada’s Boxing Day, and St. Patty’s day if I remember to get to it before I black out.

I'm going to take a guess at it cause why not...I think it's going to be one of these three guys...Chris Beard...Porter Moser....or Eric Musselman. I can't say which one because I have zero info, it's just me trying to put together a puzzle with missing pieces. The time has come and past for it to be an IU guy or John Beilein/Thad Matta. I got a strong hint from Rabby (it may have been just me) that it was going to be a current college HC and that the IU guys were to please the former players. Again, just how I took it. Beard is free to talk. I don't believe some Twitter guy who isn't verified saying "no" for Chris Beard. If IU is talking to them, I think those talks would be secretive. As for the Moser talk, it sounds like it is clear he would for sure leave Loyola for Marquette or IU. Per Rabjohns nobody is sure what Musselman or Arkansas would do.

Does Muss realize he's actually telling them to play for 04 minutes with his hands?

Kinda like your pitching and the umpire puts up the count and from the mound you see 1 and 3.

TV timeouts? 4 minutes at a time 10 times. He just didn't match up his visual aide with his words. But damn that start up gate drove the point home.

If anybody is interested, Nate Oats is on the episode of Pardon My Take that just got released. They had Musselman on a couple weeks ago as well. Listening to the Musselman interview you could understand why college players want to play for him.

So how much money would it take to land Oats with his buyout and salary?

Think his buyout is $12.6mm.  Then need to probably pay him $5mm a year

I cringe too but if Muss can produce Crean like results on the good side and minimize the downside he will be just fine.

Musselman is nothing more Crean, he can actually coach.
