Indiana isn’t paying the $10M so that’s sort of irrelevant unless said boosters are also hand delivering “the guy”. We’ll see how it pans out but I’m not as confident as most seem to be that a home run hire is in the bag. As for Stevens; he said he wasn’t quitting so our only hope is that Ainge informs him he’s getting fired but that sounds insane given they just extended him a year ago.
akumanina Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 Maybe I'm reading into things too much, but there's a comment in Dolson's announcement that caught my ears. "I'm a big process guy." Of course, Brad Stevens would be our ultimate dream, grand slam hire, but somehow I thought if Stevens is a pipe dream, it could be Beilein because IU can certainly hire him as a stepping stone to right the program and to position the IU job as a much more attractive one in 5-6 years from now. And if Beilein can hire Dane Fife as his top assistant? I think I would love it.
