He very much wants an IU guy. He would take Brad Stevens but any other coach should be from IU in his opinion.

We might suck next year, and probably will, but at least I am looking forward to it. I don't see any scenario in which I would have been excited or anxious for another year of what we have seen the last 4. Your scenario about keeping him on would have been brutal for everybody, players, coaches, fans. The only people that would have liked it would have been the media.

Even if you think $10 mil was too much to spend to get rid of Archie, it was time for him to go. I absolutely hated hearing those boooos during their last game. I felt awful for Archie and more importantly the players. However, if he stayed, it would have snowballed into every crevice and crack of IU Men's basketball. There is no way I would want to see that done to Archie. He gave it his best shot and did not get any good luck along the way. You can say IF this would have happened, or IF that would have happened, but we only have what did happen. I wish him the best of luck and I am pretty sure he will make it out of this valley but we had to have a new direction with some hope. Any of the candidates that we get will give that, another year with CAM would not, IMHO.

I wish some of these posters that say they won’t come back if it is X, Y, or Z would go ahead and go. If you feel like the new hire suits you, come back then. I don’t think the best course of action is to start bad mouthing all the coaches that are still in the running. These other guys that might still take this job are looking, guaranteed. Or at least they have people around them that are. Given that SD went all in for this guy, I’m sure he will do the same thing for the next guy on his list. Nobody left has the obstacle course in front of them that BS had, let’s not add to their decision in a negative way. Many of us knew that it was going to be difficult considering the nba season. All the insiders that gave info were just as excited and bought in just like us. How boring and crappy would this board be if it was just people complaining and hating. There is only one candidate that will unite IU basketball. ONLY 1! It might be a pipe dream but $10 million has already been given. If you give that much to get rid of someone, how much do you give to get who you want. Whatever it takes is the answer. I will get behind whoever is chosen but there is only 1.
