Popular Post go iu bb Posted March 18 Popular Post Posted March 18 I ran in to Dolson earlier. I asked him who the next coach was going to be. He just sighed and said, "You're going to be disappointed." Okay, not really. JustWinBaby, MikeRoberts, akumanina and 8 others 2 8 1

Popular Post lillurk Posted March 18 Popular Post Posted March 18 Earlier @Stuhoo said “ask again in five years” about the best of the bunch of mostly 40-something HCs bandied about. I’m gonna repeat myself on the same group: you hire a coach for what he’s going to do, not what he’s done. Many of these guys will never win a title. But if you could see the future told me McCasland, Otz, Olen, DeVries, McCollum, Luke Murray, etc. took a big job and made multiple F4s, or got a title in the next 10-20 years, it wouldn’t shock me at all. Heck, the first two guys on the list have teams that could make the F4 THIS YEAR 8bucks, DSUMMITT, JustWinBaby and 10 others 12 1

Adillac Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Mismanaging the basketball program for 25 years would definitely suggest IU will ignore Beard/Wade/Golden. Indiana is a better job than Florida and it’s IU‘s job to make that clear. If IU can’t make the case to someone qualified then again, that’s just incompetence. You can have mid NIL and salary and play in a FedEx warehouse or you can have top level NIL and salary and play in a limestone cathedral. It is public knowledge that IU has top shelf money for both coaches and players, that we have a great arena and there is prestige (though fading) to the job. IU needs to do better at hiring basketball coaches. It’s literally their job and it will be their fault (not the fans’) if they hire another dud. Deserthoozier, moyemayhem and JPCIVOP 3

str8baller Posted March 18 Posted March 18 4 minutes ago, BH33 said: He specifically mentioned Brad Stevens, Dusty May, Will Wade. That’s quite the spectrum of candidates. Is Wade that much higher than Devries when you factor everything in? He doesn’t meet our criteria as best ever at LSU because the notorious Dale Brown had several seasons better than Wades best.

I touted Dennis Gates four years ago. He’s currently got a top 15 team and if we’d hired him four years ago we wouldn’t have been miserable the past four years—we’d have an excellent young coach for the next 15 years. Instead?
