Popular Post croneleoni Posted March 17 Popular Post Posted March 17 Dolson is keeping things still quiet. This is what my friend texted me today.A guy at work is a longtime IU season ticket holder. He spoke to a high up donor that has spoken to Dolson recently. Dolson wouldn’t tell this guy whom the coach was going to be due to all the rumors out there, but he did tell this donor that he would be happy. PartyintheVillas Posted March 17 Posted March 17 I am not a defender of Rabby normally, but I feel for him on this one. He has made a mistake (probably got normally reliable information), and has said he accepts and admits he made a mistake. He's "taking the L" for this one. Plus, as much as I think Rabby has lost some of his journalist side for his entertainer side, Tucker's dad is a problem. mamasa and Ctf9 1 1

I don't know if Sampson changed after Indiana or not and have no dug into it, but while he was here the team culture was a detriment to Indiana University and its community. As far as Chris Beard is concerned, I don't believe he has changed at all. I really appropriate your Westhead reference. But I have to dig into you a bit. If I was irrational I would say "f the university and students I want to win" but of course that's ridiculous. I will say from witnessing the job at the low starting points of college coaching, it's nasty. We can go down a list that starts at the top. Self, Sampson, Pitino, Pearl,,,,etc on and on. You look at a guy like Drew or Brad or a Jon Scheyer. These guys didn't start in the trenches and have divorce number 2 and functional alcoholism to deal with. We have 1971-1995 to hang our hat on and for all the reasons most people fail to mention about RMK that were awesome and I love, every year starting in 1977 he became a little bit more out of his mind. He never succumbed to cheating though. The great John Wooden tried it. He was the Ben McCollum/Brad Stevens/Dusty of his time. Super successful at ISU for 2 years, went to UCLA and finally gave up trying to beat Pete Newell and handed recruiting over to Sam Gilbert and was the most successful and dirtiest coach of all time. We really aren't much to talk about if you take 1971-1995 out of the story. You have to go back to before the rotary phone. There may not be the coach that returns us to that greatness that hasn't or isn't capable of pushing it too far.

But the second someone brings any positivity to the board, they’re immediately labeled a troll and have their sources questioned—ironically, by the same people who have absolutely zero real connection to the program whatsoever. Yet, if someone posts something negative, they take it as gospel and wallow in the misery like it’s their life’s purpose. If they actually want to make a real change, they should get off their lazy ***** and donate to the NIL fund, support the basketball program, and give back to the university. Do something that actually matters instead of being a mood-killing, negativity-obsessed Nancy on a free message board. Here, Here!!!! We are to the point that everyone is waiting with baited breath for a serious candidate to take over this program. It's guys like Isaac that are truely trying to "jerk us around".....!!! I'm over it and ready for some serious, respectful discussions about whos potentially going to lead this program next year. I continue to support Dolson and the work he has done. I honestly feel, when a name had been officially given, we are all going to be happy. Chris007, Withnail and Artie86 3

Popular Post HoosierKix Posted March 17 Popular Post Posted March 17 One thing I won't understand if it is McCollum...why did it get so quiet? Like why would Dolson have everyone around him be so quiet for so long to hire a mid major coach? Don't get me wrong, I don't think McCollum is a bad hire, but he's no home run hire that you keep under lock and key. There are just so many aspects of this coaching hire that don't make sense to me yet, maybe @JerryYeagley23 will be able to give some clarity once he "takes the lid off" as he said. Hope we hear something soon because this search is getting old at this point. IU Faithful, mdiu28, JustWinBaby and 7 others 9 1
