Winning out could put us on the 1 line. That would be a crapload of Q1 wins

How could you be projected to lose in rd of 32 as the higher seed without even knowing who that team would be?

They shot great from three and we turned it over way too much. So frustrating because we had a clear path to the Final Four

Halftime of the OSU/MSU game on CBS, one of the analysts revealed his top 8 teams and had IU as the second #2 seed. Our wins piling up starting to get some attention nationally.

I can help with that b/c a buddy sent me a screenshot beside himself that there wasn’t a big 12 team on the 1 line (but no reaction to IU on the 2 line)

That’s crazy. But I do think if we stay respectable—we have a tough road left—we may get bumped up a little due to the injuries. That’s assuming Race, Geronimo, and XJ are back and we’re “whole.” It’s a good narrative to have anyways.

Only way that happens is if the committee takes into account injuries. Which they don’t from what I am told. 
 

now I suppose if we go on a 9 game winning streak maybe we can get 1

There's not a team in the country I wouldn't give us at least a punchers chance at beating on a neutral court right now.

I will say there are teams I hope are on the complete other side of our bracket next month (Arizona, Alabama), but we're hot at the right time. I don't know if I said that even during the Zeller years.

Hope this can continue to March.

They don't take injuries into account when looking at the record. So they won't look at a team and say they'd have won x more games or this game or that game with the player.

They sometimes take them into account when doing seeding, I believe. If an injured starter has recently returned they might get a seeding bump. Conversely, if a team's star player goes down and won't be available for the tournament, that could drop their seed.

I think they also factor them for teams on the bubble, it can be the difference between making the tournament or not. This one I'm less sure of than the others above.
