She is waiting to see how much he gets on his first contract. The story is BS. It has not had legs since the first time someone posted it. Everyone is claiming that someone slept with someone's girlfriend or coaches wife. NONE of it happened. Makes you feel bad for Romeo really, because IU fans that love to talk about their morals and believe this garbage will dog him forever. It’ll be a small group but it isn’t fair at all. I'd put him on a similar level with Vonleh. Just the nature of being one and done... you don't get to see them grow over the course of a few years. It's over just like that. Capt. Crimson Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 It's really not even his fault either.. too many expectations put on him knowing it was his one and only year. Quote

(I’m aware that his on-court legacy won’t be glowing, but he was still pretty dang good) He should not be “dogged”, as he played well for a freshman, was injured, and may be viewed as a turning point for good Indiana players going to IU but on the other hand it’s hard to have a legacy when you only play one year and the team does not even make the tournament. Multi-years, and defining moments, create legacies. Romeo does not have either. Stuhoo, jonz44 and JaybobHoosier 3 Quote

Absolutely. We have many former players that were very good and played several seasons, so a single season guy would have to be outstanding to reach legacy status. George McGinnis had such a season and is recognized for it, but isn't as highly revered as a lot of other guys who may not have been nearly as talented. I had to look up those stats - wow! https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/george-mcginnis-1.html jonz44, Hardwood83, Capt. Crimson and 1 other 4 Quote

Popular Post monskisprodigy Posted April 11, 2019 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2019 Let me make it clear this is second hand...but comes from someone who has delivered on information in the past. He is hearing that Brunk is a done deal... I keep a fair level of skepticism with anything I hear pertaining to IUBB (People had me convinced Billy D. was buying property in Bloomington), but there appears to be a lot of smoke for there to be no fire. Texas Tech was coming off an Elite Eight season. Who cares about preseason predictions. Chris Beard had a track record of success. Archie does not at IU. The fact remains nothing about IU sticks out to top grad transfers who have numerous schools courting them. Chris Beard's 'track record of success' at Texas Tech entering this season was two seasons long, one of which he didn't make the NCAA or NIT tournament. Good for Chris Beard at Texas Tech for a great couple of seasons. But Bob Knight had a track record that laughs at one's like Chris Beard and he didn't make Texas Tech an attractive place to play. And if Texas Tech was such an attractive place that it brought (what is now suddenly be rewritten as) the ungodly talent of Matt Mooney, then why was Beard's recruiting class ranked 33rd last year? Why are we suddenly trying to rewrite Matt Mooney's ability? Why the need to romanticize it? In Texas Tech's three guard starting lineup, he was the third best guard behind Moretti and Culver.
