  2. This reads as though you think Harris doesn’t want to practice or work at getting better. What has been reported is Harris has been hurt. It was noted he was out with a lower body injury in fall camp and we all saw he got injured in the first quarter of the north Texas game. Frustrating? Yes. But I’m sure he wants to be out there. He’s day to day. Hopefully he’s back soon.

  3. Carson Williams transferred in from Montana State. Kasmir Hicks is on the roster too but he's a freshman. I work with a PSU fan, he said Harris is good when he's on the field but the problem is getting him on the field and called Harris injury prone.

  4. 21 seems about right. NW abused Colorado's secondary throughout the game. IU must improve the level of pressure on the QB on Friday night or NW will hang in there by taking advantage of our inexperience at DB and extend drives to kill clock. Hopefully, Harris is back and that could make a huge difference. On the other side of the ball, I expect Turbo to run all over the NW defense; Colorado ran at will against them but turned the ball over 4 times; mostly on their own side of the field.

  5. Don't get me started. It's the same poop different year. Louisville fans should be going nuts. They have a very strong case to switch spots with LSU. There isn't 10 schools in the SEC that are top 25 in the country and I would bet a ton of money on that. No way they have 10 schools that good. LSU, Florida, and maybe A&M should all be either out of the rankings or at the very bottom. What's even more frustrating is LSU plays A&M this weekend and the AP will look at it as a matchup between 'Ranked' opponents. Freaking Florida at 21 is fraudulent. UCLA has a better resume than Florida.

  6. Another ho hum game; a 49-0 romp over St. Thomas Moore. 13-17 for 352 yds. and 3 TDs. Also 3 rushes for 58 yds.

  7. Mendoza being the Heisman winning/#1 draft pick along with Beckers emergence and the offensive line gelling late really transformed the team to dominant status. The defense was pretty good beginning to end. But primarily the Mendoza thing is kind of lightening in a bottle that really great teams don’t necessarily get. That’s why many of us said this off-season Hoover could be really good for us this year, but we still might see a little regression at the position. I think we look the part of a top 5 or top 10 team. We’ll just have to wait and see until we play a decent opponent. I personally don’t think NW or Rutgers will tell us much about our upside. But then again there’s no reason to think our upside isn’t anything but title contender.

  8. I think we are at a point where Cig will be vanilla till he is forced to not be vanilla. Hopefully making it to OSU where the hammer drops against OSU and Michigan. Then ironically schedule looks wide open after that because Washington has gone to hell. And USC defense is bad bad bad

  9. Right. And last year at this time we were worried about Illinois and literally no one was thinking natty. I think some folks forget about the adversity and uncertainty we had all last season. Even coming out of Iowa there were concerns with play calling, short yardage, and our silent count. Teams evolve and and there is an element of luck. No one knows how this team will grow and if we get any helpful breaks. It’s pretty unlikely things will pan out as great as 2025, but things could still be good, especially with this staff. Or maybe not and we have a down season. Just have to wait and see.

  11. ....This OSU poster from Eleven Warriors is quite comical....lol AskMeAboutMyCats 19 Sep 2026, 11:54 pm There’s nothing special about Cigneti other than recruiting a bunch of 25 year old players to run a plodding scheme.

  12. Good effort by the Colts. They made a lot of mistakes on both sides of the ball in a tough environment. The defense is one or two injuries away from not winning a single game. But to be fair, they played toe to toe last night and made some critical stops to keep us in the game and most importantly they were so much better compared to last week. Home game against a division opponent is next. A critical game to stay in the race.

  13. They lost the game when they ran the ball 2 times before the FG in OT. You have to get a TD there unless you want to lose the game by giving Mahomes 3 minutes to go down to get a FG which is what happened.

  20. Been in Europe for the better part of the last month so really haven't had any time to digest and enjoy the season. Have kept up with some highlights and read some clippings but I feel this is the week they really open the playbook both offensively and defensively. Defensively feels like we've rotated a ton of guys largely due to some very hot and humid climate games and doesn't seem like we're stunting/blitzing they way we have in the past. Injuries, eligibility-issues, and inexperience at some key positions have probably dictated some of that but just feels like its been noticeably different. Offensively it feels like Cig has really tried to make it a point of emphasis to remain as balanced as possible and to really establish the run almost to a fault, trying to instill in Hoover's brain that he doesn't need to win the game on every drop back. Anyways, looking forward to finally being able to watch a full 60 minutes start to finish on top of getting down to Bloomington for the first time this season.

    2026 IUFB: CHAPTER 3

...looking back, if Ju Ju Lewis actually ended up at IU, where he would be on the depth chart? I sort of wonder if he may be following a somewhat similar path like former 5* Christian Lander and IU Basketball.

  24. USCs current regime has a storied history of not taking care of business. And UCLA is still a massive unknown.

  25. I’m only saying that on paper I didn’t expect either USC or UCLA to have as close a game with Rutgers or Purdue as they had. This is a new IU team and a new season. I’m not saying we won’t win the games you mentioned, but you make it sound easy and hopefully it will be. IU’s loss of experience and leadership is significant, in my opinion. I’m really interested to see how we do against Northwestern. I appreciate your confidence, but be careful that you’re not allowing a little complacency to sneak in there. Other teams may have improved more than you know. Go Hoosiers!!

Their Louisville win looks even better now after UL beat SMU, and Trinidad was amazing vs LSU. Wins over #10 and #16 is the best resume in college football right now… just my opinion I think they earned the jump in rankings.

  29. I agree, and Cig always respects his opponents...but it may have cost us a position in the top 25 poll, but at this point of the season it's still mostly a popularity contest!

  30. Cig also alluded in his post game conference that we could’ve really ran up the score in the 2nd half but it wasn’t necessary. We wanted to shorten the game and get out injury free

  31. 23.5 is crazy. Not touching that with a 10 foot pole. Of course, knowing Cig’s IUFB we’ll bend them over our knee and give them The Fighting Illini Treatment.

  42. Apparently this is an overly optimistic take based on Evan Miya's team rankings. His relative ranking has IU at #51 nationally. If you exclude players whose eligibility case is still pending and they were considered ineligible, it would move up to #44. That is #12 in the Big Ten in both scenarios. Here is his relative ranking for Big Ten teams: And here it is sorted for excluding pending eligibility cases: Behind Illinois, Michigan State, Michigan, UCLA, Nebraska, Ohio State, Purdue, USC, Wisconsin, Maryland and Iowa. Ahead of Oregon, Minnesota, Washington, Rutgers, Northwestern and Penn State. Funny side note... LSU is ranked #17, but if you exclude potentially ineligible players, they're #150.
